Our hallway is looking a little different as we pack up... It's been fun to reminisce and find things that teachers forgot we had! Looking forward to a new space and new opportunities to learn 💛🏵️

Alumni and current families: do you have a favorite memory in this hallway? We'd love to hear!

A gentle reminder: our Zeffy is still active if you'd like to help us move. Your support means so much!

On to our next adventure!

Ms. Naheed said it best...

"We have so many beautiful memories of this space-epic block structures, our outdoor classroom, the mud, sunflowers, the spark of joy in children's eyes when they achieve their goals, the friendships, and, last but not least, the community. It all comes down to our very special community. You all know that I love to quote Ms. Marlo: "the magic is in our people," because it truly is. From our dedicated teachers that care so deeply about each student, to our committed members that make each class day, event, and every other operation of our school possible-it is all because of our magical community.

While we will miss some aspects of our current space, think of the move as capturing all our magic and planting those roots at a new location. While it may look different, we'll still have the mysterious mud kitchen creations, the messy art, the creative building, the wonder, and the joy because we will still have our wonderful community.

Relocating will be expensive for our school. If you're able to support us financially, please donate at the link below. No amount is too small, and every donation is deeply appreciated.

Thank you again for being a part of our wonderful community and carrying us through to our next chapter. We wholeheartedly appreciate all of you and the magic you've planted! 🌻"

Ms. Teresa had a hard time thinking of just ONE moment from this year... but she was able to decide on one overall theme:

"My favorite thing about pandas is seeing the step out of their comfort zone and take risks and be successful. This year many pandas have overcome their fears to try new things! Some examples have been using a potato peeler without hurting themselves, using a hot glue gun to create artwork without burning themselves, and mastering that zip line they really wanted to ride! Seeing their joy and pride on their faces is priceless!" 🐼

Koalas teacher, Ms. Marlo, said this when asked what her favorite moment/learning experience was this year:

"One of my favorite things happened back in March. A few of the kids randomly started playing pirates in the boat and on the climber. By the end of class almost everyone had joined in. To follow the interests of the children, the following week we fully embraced everything pirates. We made pirate ships out of the bottoms of water jugs, jolly Rodger’s, and treasure maps. There was a lot of pirate dramatic play, looking for treasure, sailing in the pirate ship, and fishing in the ocean. Most of the class was fully engaged in all the activities. This was a great example of how an emergent curriculum can take the spark of an idea from the students and involve into something meaningful for them."⚓️

Highlighting a favorite moment from the Teddies class!
Our Teddies Teacher, Ms. Jenny, had this to say...

"I had put out cars/roads on the table by the shed. Before class I was unloading stuff from the shed to put out and I had accidentally left the xylophone that goes on the music wall on the same table with the cars. One of the kids thought it was a “musical road”. We elaborated on that and had some really awesome moments!

It was a real testament to child directed play. I always put out stuff thinking it will possibly be used in a certain way and then they have their own ideas on how to use it. They had the idea to drive the cars on the xylophone. I added some other instruments to see what they would do and they really created something special." 💚

We're highlighting teacher's favorite moments from this school year! Ms. Melissa, our cub's teacher, has this to say...

"My favorite thing about cubs is watching them explore new objects and experiences. They get to have a lot of “firsts” in class. This week, they finally discovered the puddle at the bottom of the hill and we had a blast!"

Happy Teacher Appreciation Week!

We may be biased but our teachers are the best around! Providing our children opportunities to explore, learn, and play! Thank you for all you do - Ms. Teresa, Ms. Marlo, Ms. Jenny, & Ms. Melissa!

We love you!
