As we approach Christmas and a new year, Nixa Bands hopes to have brought a smile to many faces with over 25 performances from the entire semester! Starting with our first performance at the Springfield Cardinals, proceeding with many marching contests, Friday performances, and concluding with 6 holiday concerts. We hope that our music has brought a tap to your toe and a smile to your face.

A tradition that we have had for almost 30 years is to join together and give back to our community in another way, specifically during the holidays. With gifts from our students and patrons at our HS concert, over $1000 was donated, which was used to purchase toys. This student-led effort means that on Christmas morning, area children will be surprised with Barbies, Nerf toys, Hot Wheels, board games, Squishmallows, Playdough, Bop Its, basketballs, bikes, and so much more.

Through wonderful music and the kindness of giving, our Nixa Band family is proud to be a part of the joy of the season. Merry Christmas to all, a Happy New Year, and have a very relaxing and safe break!

Really impressive kids this weekend. 21 students auditioned Saturday in Columbia for All State Honors (congrats to Hudson Angell, Jasmine Eisterhold, Declan O’Bryant and Jackson Zahner-Esquivel). The rest of the band left Nixa around 12:30 Saturday to go represent our community at the MSHSAA class 6 Football Championship game that evening, getting back to Nixa around 2:30 am. Rest up on Sunday? Nope. Next up was the Nixa Christmas parade. Long days, long bus rides, and cold temperatures. A busy way to head into a busy week with concerts this week. Good job kids! Thank you for your efforts!

HS concert is Thursday (6:30) and JH is Friday (6:00). Both concerts at the Aetos Centor at NHS.

A day full of wonderful performances from many bands at Missouri State University, including our own Crimson Corps. Excited to see the students perform with pride in their efforts, because there is a lot of to be proud of!

In Prelims the band earned 1st place in their division as well as Outstanding Music & GE. And in Finals the band earned 1st place and Outstanding GE & Drum Majors. This is the programs 9th “Ozarko” win and 4th in a row!

Yesterday the band performed at the Ozark Marching Festival, earning 2nd place in their class and 3rd place overall. Congrats on a strong showing! Lots of things to celebrate but work still to be done on creating the show that we know we have in us. Always excited to show up on Monday and get back to work on getting better! Next up is Bentonville next weekend!
