Cindy's Driving School is now hiring instructors! Teaching people, young and old, to drive is such a rewarding experience! Expert training by Cindy comes before being licensed by the DMV to become an instructor. Cindy has been teaching driving lessons for over 24 years, and training new instructors for over 13 years.
Teach part-time, or up to 30 hours per week, the hours are set according to your availability. Skills required are kindness, patience, alertness, the desire to teach, and the ability to communicate well.

With our good humor, encouraging approach, we focus on the success and development of young drivers. We believe in student success and take full responsibility to pass their driving test and provide our students and parents the total value of their investment. Our driving lessons are not "tests"; they are a safe and nurturing environment to allow new drivers to gain confidence behind the wheel. Our approach focuses on developing safety skills and courtesy, with a strong understanding of the driving regulations. Our greatest asset is patience.

If you are a patient mentor that enjoys working with teens, Cindy's Driving School is the place for you. Many teens and young adults are seeking driving lessons at this time.

This position has a flexible schedule, with most lessons scheduled between 3 pm to 5 pm on weekdays and 8 am to 6pmSaturdays and peak season during school holidays.

Skills:

Must be licensed for at least 5 years with no derogatory marks on your license. No DUI's no Failure to appear, etc.
Must have excellent English communication skills, Spanish speaker a plus
Quick learners with a positive attitude
Must have a high school diploma
Prefer someone who has worked with teens or kids as a teacher or mentor
Responsibilities:

Educate students in accurate and safe driving practices.
Must be good under pressure - Able to keep your composure during stressful situations
Need to be able to work around teenager's schedules. Weekends and evenings are required during the school year.
Must be extremely patient, friendly, nurturing with a good sense of humor
Will train qualified candidates
Licensing Requirements:

Study, and successful completion of DMV written test for instructors
20 hours of behind-the-wheel instructions with Cindy during and aside from student’s lesson DMV medical examination
Live Scan
Must be 25 or older
Will be provided with company vehicle

Sometimes its an Extreme Sport, but its always fun and fulfilling teaching people how to drive “real-time!” Behind-the-wheel lessons to teens, and people of any age. You will be well trained by a Master Instructor. I work with your availability; you use my car with a brake installed for the instructor. Training is paid for after you pass your DMV test, and stay with the school 4-6 months. Hoping for 30 hours availability per week, but will accept as little as 10 hours. Must pass physical exam and Livescan fingerprinting. No felonies, DUI’s or unpaid fines. Business is booming in this driving school, so tell your mom to apply too!

There’s a car in the driveway and you want to GO PLACES!!! But you need to wait😣. The DMV in SLO opened up (only one on the CentralCoast) but they are still not giving Behind-The-Wheel tests. When they start giving those tests, we will be able to start lessons again. Please text me your name (the student), what city you live in, and if you already have your permit. Since the DMV isn’t giving Behind the Wheel drive tests at this time, we also, cannot give lessons. However, I have a waiting list, so if you’re ready to take lessons, text me and get your name on that list! 805-260-1922. I will contact you when the “non-essential business” ban is lifted.
