🌽❤️ **What a GREAT week!** ❤️🌽

We had such a fun and rewarding week volunteering with our friends at Friends of Berrien Springs at the Berrien County Youth Fair Korn Dog Booth!

A huge thank you to everyone who came out, volunteered their time, served up some delicious korn dogs, and helped make this fundraiser such a success. We are so grateful for the teamwork, laughter, and community spirit that made the week so much fun! 🫶

Most importantly, we were able to raise money to support our mission of giving back to our community and helping local students and families.

Thank you to our amazing volunteers and to our friends at Friends of Berrien Springs for letting us be part of such a great week!

Korn dogs served. Money raised. Memories made. 🌽

We found someone to cover one of our open shifts! 🎉 Thank you SO much to everyone who shared our post, reached out, and offered to help. We truly appreciate our amazing community! 🫶

There are still several evening shifts available this week at the Berrien County Youth Fair working the Korn Dog booth! 🌽🐶

⏰ 6:45 PM–close (usually around 11:00 PM)

You do not have to be a member of NSL to volunteer! The Fair provides an hourly stipend for the shift, which goes directly back to Niles Service League to support local students and families. ❤️

🚨 **UH OH! WE NEED YOUR HELP!** 🚨

We had TWO volunteer shifts open up at the Berrien County Youth Fair working the Korn Dog booth TOMORROW (8/18)! 🌽🐶

You do NOT have to be a member of NSL to volunteer! We’re looking for a couple of hardworking, positive people who can help us fill these last-minute openings. 💛

This is a volunteer opportunity where we receive an hourly stipend donated back to NSL for each hour worked, to help us continue supporting local students and families in our community! ❤️

💙 Meet Our Members Monday! 💙

This week, we're excited to introduce Kate, one of the wonderful women who makes Niles Service League so special!

✨ A returning member with a heart for service

Kate was originally a member of Niles Service League for three years before returning to the organization around 2021–2022. She joined because she wanted to do something positive for our community, meet new people, and be part of something with a purpose.

One of the things Kate loves most about NSL is knowing that 100% of the money raised goes back into our local community, specifically helping children and families in the Niles, Brandywine, and Buchanan areas.

🎄 Favorite Projects: The Quarter Paddle Auction & Christmas Families

Kate says the appreciation from the families and community makes everything we do so worthwhile. She especially loves knowing that through Christmas Families, local parents can experience a little less stress during the holidays while their children have gifts and their families have food to celebrate Christmas.

✈️ Fun Fact: Kate spent her twenties traveling! She's visited more than 8 countries, lived in Hawaii for a couple of years, and even drove across the United States. 🌎

When asked what she would tell someone considering joining Niles Service League, Kate said:

"We have a great bunch of members who are fun to serve with, but we also know how to get down to business and accomplish great things. We laugh often, support each other, and step in for each other when needed. It is very rewarding to be a part of the Niles Service League."

We couldn't have said it better! 💙

A big THANK YOU to our current members and the NEW wonderful women who joined us for our “Let’s Taco-bout NSL” recruitment night! We loved getting to know you, sharing more about Niles Service League, and showing you just how much fun it is to make a difference in our community. ❤️

💙 **Meet Our Members Monday!** 💙

This week, we're excited to introduce another wonderful member of Niles Service League—Deb!

✨ 1 year of service

After retiring, Deb found herself with some extra time and wanted to use it to make a difference. She joined Niles Service League because she wanted to be part of a group that benefits children and families in our community.

And after her first year, it's safe to say she's found her people! 💙

"What a super group of dedicated ladies! I love it."

🎄 Favorite Project: Christmas Families

Deb's favorite event so far has been our Christmas Families program, where she had the opportunity to shop for a family and help provide them with a complete Christmas meal and gifts.

"It was so fulfilling to shop for, and provide a complete meal and gifts for a family whose Christmas would have otherwise been limited. It makes your heart feel great!"

When asked what she would tell someone considering joining Niles Service League, Deb shared:

"I think you'll gain a new sense of purpose and teamwork. It's a wonderful group!"

💙 **Meet Our Members Monday!** 💙

This week, we're excited to introduce another wonderful member of Niles Service League—Sara!

✨ Beginning her 3rd year of service

Sara joined Niles Service League because she wanted to continue serving the community she loves.
"As a retired elementary teacher, I've seen a need for help in the schools, and this is my way of giving back and continuing to help children."

When asked about her favorite NSL project, Sara couldn't choose just one! She especially enjoys volunteering at the Korn Dog Booth during the Berrien County Fair, where she loves working alongside fellow members and doing something a little out of the ordinary. She also looks forward to our Quarter Paddle Auction and Easter Egg Hunt each year.

🎶 Fun Fact: After retiring four years ago, Sara joined the Michiana Chamber Orchestra! Having played the clarinet and oboe in high school, she decided to pick up the oboe again and has been enjoying making music ever since.

When asked what she would tell someone considering joining Niles Service League, Sara shared:
"It is a great organization that helps the children in our community, and you can go to sleep at night knowing you are helping."

Thank you, Sara, for your continued dedication to serving local children and families. Your passion for education, music, and community service makes Niles Service League stronger, and we're so grateful to have you as part of our organization! 💙
