Northridge is an independent school for young men in grades 6-12 located in Niles, IL. The school offers a recognized curriculum and a strong athletics program.

Northridge Preparatory School is an independent, college preparatory school for young men grades 6-12, located in Niles, Illinois. Northridge was established in 1976 by a group of parents who envisioned a college preparatory school that would challenge their sons academically, socially and spiritually. Realizing the importance of the middle school years, they sought to include grades 6 through 12

in the Northridge curriculum. The founding parents entrusted the spiritual dimension of Northridge Prep to Opus Dei, a Personal Prelature of the Roman Catholic Church that was founded in 1928. Northridge is the brother school of The Willows Academy, a girls college preparatory school in Des Plaines, Illinois; parents continue to foster a relationship with The Willows Academy by organizing dances and social events throughout the school year. Northridge is a member of the Illinois High School Association (IHSA) and the Independent School League (ISL).

⭐️ Tolstoy's Anna Karenina: A six-session spring series exploring the novel's timeless wisdom about marriage, family, and the human heart.

Parent University is open to parents, alumni, and friends of Northridge. Every event has an expert talk, Q&A, and time to socialize afterward.

Thank you to everyone who joined us at Northridge summer camps this year! From new skills to new friendships, it was an awesome summer. We can't believe it's over and school is around the corner!

School is right around the corner, but it's still summer at Northridge! Here's what our campers have been up to this week:

📐 Algebra Bootcamp: The campers are locking in core math skills, from order of operations to solving equations, to build total confidence for the school year ahead.

🧪 Dangerous Experiments: Campers are off to an explosive start! They've launched their very own sugar rockets, melted an aluminum can with hydrochloric acid, and exploded potassium in water.

💰 Investment and Finance: The boys learned basic financial concepts like interest, stocks, and bonds. The rest of the week covers economic ideas like supply and demand and inflation, plus exploring how they can use technology to build their own business products.

📚 Back to School Bootcamp: Campers have been reading Sid Fleischman's The Whipping Boy while learning task management techniques and how to improve memory and social skills.

📖 Epic Books Club: Our readers jumped back centuries to explore the heroic legend of Beowulf while learning the ancient roots of Old English. They're having a blast expanding their literary skills and already know how to command their friends to run, jump, and walk in Anglo-Saxon!

Here is what our campers are up to this week:

💡Algebra Bootcamp: Campers sharpened their algebra skills by reviewing linear functions, solving challenging problems, and putting their knowledge to the test in fun, friendly math competitions throughout the hallways!

📚Epic Storywriting Workshop: Campers explored the art of creative writing by learning what makes a novella, mapping out engaging plots, creating memorable characters, and developing vivid settings to bring their stories to life.

☠Dangerous Experiments: Campers embraced the excitement of hands-on science by dissecting a cow eyeball in Petri dishes to learn about anatomy. On the second day, they engineered sugar rockets and launched them at the park, discovering first hand the science behind propulsion!

📕Epic Book Club: Campers set sail on an exciting literary adventure by diving into Treasure Island. As they read together, they used their imaginations to bring the story to life and eagerly anticipated each new twist and turn in the journey.

We can't believe it's already week 6 of Summer Camps! Here's what been going on this week...

🪚 Dangerous Camp: Craftsmen Edition: Camp is back and off to a terrific start! Campers jumped right into the workshop, learning safety fundamentals while creating their very own camp knives and precision-pressing custom recurve longbows. As the week progresses and their sanding skills level up, the anticipation is building. By Friday, these master craftsmen will step up to the archery range to test their grit and fire their very own handmade bows and arrows!

🏕️ Junior Dangerous Camp for Boys: The final week is officially underway, and the junior campers wasted no time diving into the action! The boys have been mastering essential outdoor skills like poisonous leaf identification, tent pitching, and fire starting. When they aren't building their survival toolkit, they're burning off energy in high-stakes field exercises with epic Nerf gun battles, tactical sword duels, and chasing down their favorite counselors. The energy is electric as everyone awaits the grand finale to see which squads and standout individuals take home the coveted titles of Most Dangerous Squad and Most Dangerous Camper!

🔥 Dangerous Camp for Boys: The final week of camp is here, marking the last chance of the summer for the boys to cement their legacy and etch their names into the Most Dangerous Book! The hallways are echoing with strategic shouts and flying Nerf darts as all-school Nerf wars push teamwork to the absolute limit. Between battles, the boys have been mastering critical survival skills like fire starting, fishing, and boating.
