Northridge Preparatory School is an independent, college preparatory school for young men grades 6-12, located in Niles, Illinois. Northridge was established in 1976 by a group of parents who envisioned a college preparatory school that would challenge their sons academically, socially and spiritually. Realizing the importance of the middle school years, they sought to include grades 6 through 12 in the Northridge curriculum. The founding parents entrusted the spiritual dimension of Northridge Prep to Opus Dei, a Personal Prelature of the Roman Catholic Church that was founded in 1928. Northridge is the brother school of The Willows Academy, a girls college preparatory school in Des Plaines, Illinois; parents continue to foster a relationship with The Willows Academy by organizing dances and social events throughout the school year. Northridge is a member of the Illinois High School Association (IHSA) and the Independent School League (ISL).

Last week, our seniors split into groups for hands-on career exploration trips across Chicago. Here's a snapshot of how they spent the day.

📐 Architecture
Students took the train downtown to see how Chicago’s architects imagine and build the city, including a visit to a working firm.

⚙️ Engineering & Manufacturing
At AmTab Manufacturing, the group saw how products are designed, built, and delivered, including Northridge’s very own desks and chairs.

💰 Finance
At Belvedere Trading, students explored options trading, from pricing and data analysis to the technology behind it.

⚖️ Legal
Seniors visited a district court judge’s courtroom for a presentation on the legal profession and a chance to ask questions.

🩺 Medical & Science
Students toured a concierge medical practice and a dental clinic before finishing the day in Northwestern University’s science labs.

Thank you to the Northridge parents, alumni, faculty, and friends who opened their doors to our seniors!

Knights Place Second at State ⛳

The Knights set a program record with a 13–1 regular season, then battled cold, rain, and wind to win the first regional championship in school history.

At Sectionals, they rallied from five strokes back to earn Northridge’s first-ever trip to State, where they finished as IHSA State Runners-Up.

Senior Tommy Svanascini earned All-State honors with the program’s first top-10 individual finish at State.

It was a historic season for Northridge golf! Go Knights!

50 miles to Wisconsin 🚴‍♂️

Our 8th graders rode from Northridge to the Wisconsin border alongside teachers and dads, passing the Skokie Lagoons, Chicago Botanic Garden, and Lake Michigan along the way.

After two days of rain, stretches of the Des Plaines River Trail were flooded. The boys didn't give up, but hoisted their bikes overhead, waded through, and kept riding north!

Every boy rode at least 25 miles, and most finished all 50. Thank you to the Niles Police Department for the es**rt and to the dads, faculty, and volunteers who made it happen!

For 50 years, Northridge has been making memories.

Different faces. Different teams. Different generations.

But the feeling of being part of something bigger than yourself has always been the same.

Now, 50 years into the story, Northridge golf is writing a new chapter.

For the first time in school history, our golf team is headed to the State Finals as a team.

50 years behind them.
A new chapter ahead.
Go Knights!

Last Friday, students gathered at Harms Woods for Fall Hall Fest! It was a full day of games, competition, and camaraderie!

The festivities included flag football, Slip ’n Slide Steal the Bacon, and a thrilling game of Manhunt, where students hunted down the Hall Leaders.

After the final points were tallied, Vytis Hall claimed the victory and earned the privilege of wearing Hall shirts to school on Monday! Congratulations, Vytis!

Now it's your turn.
📩 DM US YOUR FAVORITE NRP PHOTO. Dig through the albums, raid the attic, text your old teammates. Bad haircuts, loud ties, championship wins, prom tuxes, all fair game. The best photo wins an NRP hoodie 🧥 and may be featured on an upcoming !

50 years of Knights, and we want to see them all on our way to the 50th Anniversary Gala this April. ⚔️ Let's fill this feed with memories first.
