In Loving Memory

ETI Technical College of Niles has lost a respected educator whose dedication and commitment left a lasting impact on our students and staff.

Sandi Houser, RN, passed away Saturday, July 18, 2026. Mrs. Houser joined ETI in 2009 as a full-time instructor in the Practical Nursing program. Mrs. Houser “retired” from the Practical Nursing program in 2021, yet continued to share her healthcare knowledge as an instructor in the Certified Nurse Aide and Medication Aide programs.

Mrs. Houser received her RN in 1978 and at the time of her passing had been a nurse for 48 years. Her first job was at Cedar Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, CA. She loved to tell the story of seeing John Travolta as a visitor in the lobby, but never once broke patient confidentiality! From there she went to Louisiana, where she mastered the art of making gumbo. Every year on Fat Tuesday, she would bring gumbo for us to enjoy in the nursing office. She enjoyed crafts, baking, and gardening and often went home at the end of the day to go “play in the dirt”.

Mrs. Houser will be missed by all of us at ETI.
