On September 23rd, Jessamine County Arts is joining forces with our local arts community, public schools, and Broadway stars to bring you a magical evening full of musical theatre at MoonDance Amphitheater!

Join us as Broadway's ADAM JACOBS (Aladdin, Les Miserables, The Lion King), ERIKA HENNINGSEN (Mean Girls, Les Miserables, Girls5Eva), and KRYSTINA ALABADO (Mean Girls, American Idiot, Disney+ Better Nate than Never) bring a slice of NYC to the Bluegrass.

Love, Broadway, under the direction of Austin Vahle along with Jessamine County Arts' Amy Harrod is rounded out with a featured ensemble including local talent and JCS students and alumni, Kelli Jo Summers, Lauranne Rose, Danielle Hendrix, Halle Hunter, Jackson Greene, Jackson Becker, Bryce Osborne and Myles Radford. Information regarding our open audition call for our Youth Ensemble will be released this Friday!

Love, Broadway is a benefit concert with two purposes: 1.) Provide performance and coaching opportunities for local artists to work and share with industry professionals, and 2.) to raise funds to support arts programming in Jessamine County Schools and Nicholasville, KY!

Last night we celebrated the incomparable, Jaila Yeast, as the recipient of the Jessamine County Schools Arts Star for Theatre at East Jessamine High School!

“I feel very privileged and honored to be standing here to celebrate the achievements, talents, and tenacity that Jaila Yeast exemplifies each and every day. Throughout this year, Jaila has consistently come forward as a leader within the East Theatre department, and has become a true role model for her peers.

Over the course of this year alone, I have had the opportunity to watch Jaila grow in her performance both in Jessamine County, and in the professional world of theatre. I truly have never had a student with the drive and determination that Jaila shows day in, and day out. Throughout this year, she has not only grown in her performance, but also in her confidence, and collaborative leadership within our department. I, as well as the rest of the theatre department, look forward to seeing the incredible things that she will do as she moves on to college this fall. Jaila, we thank you for your kindness, bravery and your gift of many talents. Congratulations!” -Austin Vahle, EJHS Theatre Director

We are so proud of EJHS Theatre student, Anyuli Martinez for being selected to the Governors Schools for the Arts for Musical Theatre!

Congratulations to Anyuli Martinez-Gomez for being selected as a Governor Scholar for the Arts program in the area of musical theatre! We are thrilled to see such a talented young artist recognized for her hard work and dedication to the craft. Keep shining, Anyuli! Congratulations! 🎭👏

Our Shrek cast had the opportunity to attend the Broadway National Tour of at the this evening!

Many of us experienced our first professional production and were completely blown away! Huge congratulations to the cast and crew of Hadestown!
