Communication Reminder: During the 2026-2027 school year, all communication with teachers and school staff must occur through email, by phone call, or messaging on the ParentSquare app. Teachers will be utilizing ClassDojo as part of our school-wide behavior system; however, ClassDojo will not be used for direct communication between teachers and families. While families are welcome to connect to ClassDojo to view their student's behavior data, teachers are not able to respond to messages received through the app. Teachers and school staff will only be monitoring emails, phone calls, and ParentSquare messages for communication.

It is not necessary to purchase a ClassDojo subscription; families can view student behavior data with a free account.

Teachers will provide more detailed information about connecting to ClassDojo when school begins.

Great news, Jessamine County Schools Families! JCS is once again a full CEP district for the 2026–2027 school year.🚀

What does this mean? All JCS students are eligible to receive breakfast and lunch at no cost every school day, no application required! This is a huge win for our students and our entire community.🎉

💡 Why You Might Still Want to Apply
While all students can receive meals at no cost, filling out the annual income-eligibility form is still vital for families who want to qualify for potential fee waivers (such as 💻Chromebook fees, 🚌field trips, ⚽️athletics, and more).

If your household qualifies for free or reduced status, you must submit a form to have student fees waived or adjusted.

Please see the information below about our Elementary Cross Country program. If you have any questions, please reach out to Coach Goggins ([email protected]).

Important information:
1. Remaining (optional) summer running dates: August 3 and 10 from 8:00-9:00 PM
2. The schedule will be a bit different due to our later school start date. Practices begin August 12. We will practice August 12, 17, 19 at 4:30-5:30. The practices will be at RDES, please drop off and pick up using the car lane in the front of the school. Coach Goggins and Coach Ferree will be out front during both drop off and pick up.
3. Once school starts we will practice at RDES on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:05-4:15 just FYI
4. Parent Meeting will be August 12th after practice at 5:30 at the RDES library you can enter in the front of the school. We will have the kids in there.

Registration information:
1. We limit the roster to 50 runners.
2. We accept students from both RDES and WES in grades 3rd-5th. There have been exceptions with siblings on an individual basis. If you have any questions please email [email protected] us
3. The deadline to register is August 7, 2026. Registration could close before then if we reach our max of 50 runners. So please register as soon as possible.
