We are sad to hear of the passing of Manuel Walters this weekend at the age of 90 years-old. "Mr. Walters" earned his GED with us in December of 2013 when he was 77 years-old, proof that you're never too old to pursue your education. He had over 50 family members and friends cheer him on at graduation that year, and the Jessamine Journal did a feature story on him. He is pictured here at the ceremony where we presented him with the framed copy of that newspaper article. His daughter-in-law said he kept it hanging on his wall all these years since then.

Thank you, Mr. Walters, for inspiring the hundreds of adult students who heard about your determination and decided that if you could do it, maybe they could, too. You were truly one-of-a kind.
