That’s a wrap on our very first Raiders Store of the year! Kids had a blast buying goodies for themselves and even for others! If you want to come see the cuteness for yourself make sure you sign up to volunteer.

Remember under the sign ups, there are two spots for each raider store and either Ashley or myself will always be there so you won’t be by yourself.

Next up in our Meet Your PTO series is our Vice President Ashley Truman! ❤️

Ashley is a married mama of two. Her youngest son, Nathan, is autistic, and he inspired her pageant platform, “Helping the Sick and the Special,” which reflects her passion for serving and advocating for others.

Ashley is no stranger to PTO! She previously served as President of the JELV PTO for two years and is excited to continue giving back to our school community at Red Oak.

When she isn’t working or competing in pageants, Ashley loves painting, crafting, photography, bird watching, and fishing. She has also volunteered with Bluegrass Pug Rescue for 13 years and has spent the last four years serving as the Contest Coordinator and emcee for Bluegrass Pugfest. 🐾

Whether she’s supporting families, volunteering in the community, or lending her talents to our PTO, Ashley lives by her motto:

🍎✨ MEET YOUR PTO! ✨🍎

We’re kicking off our Meet Your PTO series by introducing our 2026–2027 PTO President, Rebecca! ❤️

Rebecca is proud and excited to serve as your PTO President this school year! She’s a mama of two—Lily, 8, and Howie, 4½—and has been married to her husband, Jeff, for 16 years. She is also a proud autism mama and advocate.

Rebecca brings previous PTO experience to her role, having served as both vice president and president of the JELV PTO, as well as vice president of the Red Oak PTO last year.

Outside of PTO, Rebecca serves as the Executive Director of The CDH Foundation, a nonprofit she founded to support families who have received the rare diagnosis of Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia (CDH). She also founded Jessamine Autism Moms (and Dads), an autism parent support group created to help families connect, share resources, and support one another.

Community and connection are Rebecca’s passions. Her heart for building community, supporting families, and making sure people feel welcomed and included carries into everything she does.

Rebecca believes our school is at its best when families, teachers, and staff work together. She is looking forward to a year filled with connection, community, fun, and plenty of Red Oak spirit! 🐾❤️

We’re all busy moms, so we completely understand if you can’t find childcare—children are welcome! Just be sure to include them in your RSVP so we have plenty of ice cream for everyone. We hope to see you there!
