Nwfsc Chapter of the Association of Florida Colleges NWFSC Chapter of AFC page strives to provide access to AFC news, updates, & events for NWFSC employees & to promote communication between members.

From the Association of Florida Colleges webpage (http://www.myafchome.org/facc/Mission.asp?SnID=1494591457) The Association of Florida Colleges is the professional Association for Florida's 28 public community colleges, their Boards, employees, retirees, and associates. The mission of the Association is to actively promote, democratically represent, support, and serve the individual members and institutions in their endeavors to provide their students and the citizens of Florida with the best possible comprehensive community college educational system. Locally, the chapter supports the college and community through various means. Numerous fundraising avenues allow AFC to offer several scholarships to its members and their dependents. Working with local agencies, community service projects are planned for each quarter, and the chapter contributes to several local charitable events throughout the year. The chapter hosts occasional social events each year such as the welcome back coffee, ice cream social, and July 4th cookout. In support of AFC goals, the chapter supports the college administration in varied capacities in their dealings with the Florida Legislature.

Today, we honor the Stars and Stripes — a symbol of the freedom, courage, and unity that have shaped our nation for generations.

At NWFSC, Flag Day is also a reminder of the values that inspire Raider Nation: service, perseverance, and the pursuit of something greater than ourselves. As we celebrate the red, white, and blue, we reflect on those who have served, sacrificed, and helped preserve the freedoms we enjoy today.

Join us in proudly displaying the American flag and taking a moment to appreciate what it represents.
