The Gulf South Wave is hitting the road today for a special one — the FIRST GAME in program history!
Our boys are headed to Pensacola State College and we couldn’t be more excited to finally watch this group take the field, compete, and represent Gulf South.

A lot of work has gone into getting to this moment, but today is just the beginning.

Time to compete. Time to set the standard. Time to make some history.

Today was a special day for Gulf South Academy.

We welcomed our athletes and families together for the first time, and seeing everyone in one room made everything we’ve been working toward feel very real.

This academy was built around a belief that young men deserve more than a place to play baseball. They deserve coaches who invest in them, an environment that challenges them, opportunities to grow, and people who genuinely care about who they become on and off the field.

We know the months ahead will bring long days, hard work, big wins, tough lessons, and a lot of growth. We couldn’t be more excited to experience all of it with this group.

To the families who have trusted us with your sons, thank you. We don’t take that responsibility lightly.

And to our players, this is your opportunity. Show up. Work hard. Compete. Be a great teammate. Take advantage of every resource and every person here who wants to help you succeed.

Today was just the beginning.

🚨 RHP GRAYSON GIBSON IS HEADED TO GSA🚨

Grayson is a talented right-handed arm who already works in the upper 80s and brings quality secondary pitches he can command in any count. He has a great foundation on the mound with plenty of upside still ahead.

Our focus will be on continuing to develop his strength, movement, and overall pitch development while helping him become even more consistent and effective on the mound.

We’re excited to get to work with Grayson and watch his development continue at Gulf South. 🌊⚾️

Malloy Nilssen is the type of high-upside prospect you get excited about developing. The 2030 graduate brings an impressive offensive toolset to the field, but his potential on the mound may be just as exciting.

With a projectable frame, athleticism, and plenty of room to add strength, Malloy has all the ingredients to make major strides over the next four years. He’s a true two-way player with a high ceiling and tremendous development potential.

We’re excited to get to work with Malloy, continue building his strength and tools, and see just how high his ceiling can go.

We’re excited to welcome Trever Harmic from Naples, Florida to Gulf South Academy! 🌊⚾️

Trever is a RHP with a fastball that touches 90 MPH, but his game is about much more than velocity. He brings real pitchability to the mound and has the ability to attack hitters with confidence, land his breaking pitches in the zone for strikes, and then expand with them to create swings and misses.

Trever has the tools to be a difference maker on the mound, and we’re expecting him to play a major role in our starting rotation over the next two years. His arm strength, breaking ball ability, command, and feel for pitching give him a tremendous foundation to continue developing.

We’re excited to see what the next two years bring for Trever. The best is still ahead! 💪⚾️

We’re excited to welcome Cash Norris to the program! 🌊⚾

Cash is a true middle-of-the-field player with the versatility to play both shortstop and second base at a high level. On the mound, he’s already shown the ability to run his fastball into the mid-80s, with plenty more still in the tank.

Offensively, Cash is exactly what you want in a table setter. He finds ways to get on base, creates pressure with his speed, steals bags, and isn’t afraid to take the extra base. He plays the game with sound fundamentals, instincts, and a high baseball IQ.

What excites us most is the upside. With his commitment to our five-day-a-week strength and agility program, Cash is just scratching the surface of what he can become. As he continues to add strength to an already fundamentally sound game, the ceiling gets even higher.

The technique is there. The fundamentals are there. The work ethic is there.

We couldn’t be more excited to welcome Drew Igou to the Wave! 🌊

Drew is the definition of a true super utility player. His athleticism, versatility, and baseball instincts allow him to impact the game from virtually anywhere on the field. With plus arm strength, he’ll also be a valuable piece for us on the mound this season.

At 6’2”, 196 pounds, Drew brings the size, strength, and physicality to develop into a major run producer in the middle of our lineup. His combination of athleticism and power gives him tremendous upside, and we believe his best baseball is still ahead of him.

This is a huge addition for our program. Drew is the type of player who can change a game in multiple ways, and we can’t wait to watch him continue to develop and thrive in our system.

Carter Hawk is the kind of athlete who immediately gets your attention. ‼️

A true multi-sport standout, Carter brings athleticism, versatility, and a toolset that gives him a chance to impact the game in a lot of different ways. Defensively, he has the ability to develop into a premium defender at multiple positions. At the plate, he brings legitimate middle of the order potential with an exciting combination of hit ability and power. And on the mound, the upside is just as intriguing.

Carter has the type of athletic profile and ceiling that could develop into a major Division I player over the next few years. We’re excited to get to work, develop him in multiple roles, and see just how high that ceiling can go.
