Fishing was fun, catching was slow for me today. Water conditions were good, decent clarity in many areas, there was a ""Major""bug hatch on the lake. This coming Fri, Sat, & Sunday the lake will have the ABA fall classic which will start many year end tournament fish offs with the month of October being Very Busy every weekend.
A side note that every prediction, weather indicators, El Nino, etc, is that this winter could and very well be comparable to the winter of 97 & 98 where the lake got up to 10.59 feet above Rumsey. My wife and I were here in 98, the front page of the Record bee paper dated Feb 10th which I kept, reads, "THERE IS NO JOY IN MUDVILLE"". It shows the Clear Lake Oaks subdivisions completely surrounded & flooded with evacuation orders issued. The Willow point campground & mobile homes completely flooded. Many road closures were in place and many other lakeside properties around the lake were flooded, all ramps were closed. Where I lived at the time I watched two docks get completely washed away.
I don't want to just cry wolf, we all need to be prepared, it happened before and it definitely can happen again. I am hoping that our county officials are also preparing, cleaning out roadside ditches, drains, culvert access, etc. Plan for the worst & hope for the best, God Bless
