FRIDAY FEATURE 📝
Dazavian Hannah Invests in the Wisconsin Army National Guard
By Bristol Sanicki, 11th Grade Student — Student Media

Senior year is a time of decision. Students begin determining how they will take their first steps beyond high school. Whether entering the workforce, continuing their education, or pursuing another path, these choices represent an important stage in planning for the future.

One Niagara High School senior has chosen a path rooted in service, opportunity, and growth.

Dazavian Hannah, a senior at Niagara High School, made a commitment to invest in his personal and professional future by joining the Wisconsin Army National Guard. He will serve one weekend a month and two to three weeks a year. Dazavian will be serving in the Antigo, Wisconsin area. With this opportunity, Dazavian will be able to choose his college, unit, and career path, and the National Guard will provide him with a stipend toward his college tuition and monthly expenses. Dazavian will be a 91B Wheel Vehicle Mechanic, also known as a diesel mechanic. On behalf of the School District of Niagara, we would like to congratulate Dazavian on this incredible accomplishment! You will do great things, Dazavian!

The School District of Niagara is incredibly proud of Dazavian for taking this meaningful step toward his future. His dedication, responsibility, and willingness to serve reflect the strong character we strive to instill in our students. We also thank junior Bristol Sanicki for highlighting Dazavian’s story and showcasing the many pathways Niagara graduates pursue. We wish Dazavian continued success as he begins this exciting next chapter.

Illuminating Education: Highlighting a New Educator from Our 2025–2026 Staff
Written by seniors Elesia Sweig and Christian Anderson

This year at Niagara, there are newer and brighter additions to our school’s education system. With this being said, we want to highlight Mr. Jon Lorenzoni as one of our new staff spotlights. Mr. Lorenzoni currently teaches sixth- and seventh-grade math here at Niagara. He was born and raised in Norway, Michigan, and attended Norway High School for most of his life. Upon graduation, however, he received his diploma from Kingsford High School in 1990.

Mr. Lorenzoni received his bachelor’s degree from Northern Michigan University with a major in Elementary Education. He also minored in both math and English. Mr. Lorenzoni has been married to his wife, Elizabeth Lorenzoni, for thirty years. They have four children together, all over the age of 20: Alex, Olivia, Grace, and Ella.

Mr. Lorenzoni was drawn to Niagara after hearing about the positive reputation of our school system. He stated, “I am so impressed with the facilities, and I am amazed by how friendly and welcoming the staff has been.” Mr. Lorenzoni feels truly blessed to be a part of our district.

In his free time, he enjoys golfing, reading, watching football, and playing cards. He also likes spending as much time as possible with his friends and family. Mr. Lorenzoni stated that his desire to be a teacher stemmed from wanting to make a positive difference in his students’ lives. Mr. Jon Lorenzoni is a very patient, charismatic, and passionate individual.

Thank you, Mr. Lorenzoni, for choosing our school district as the next step in your educational career. Welcome to our staff — we are delighted to have you.

As a school district, we share the sentiments of Elesia and Christian. We are grateful for the dedication, positivity, and care Mr. Lorenzoni brings to our students and our school community. Niagara is fortunate to have him as part of our team, and we are thankful he chose to continue his educational journey with us.

50… yes, you heard us right, 50 Niagara Badgers are headed to Wausaukee High School today to compete in the M&O Conference Speech Meet.

The M&O Conference Speech Meet is a forensics competition that brings together students from schools across Marinette and Oconto counties to showcase their skills in public speaking, performance, and acting events. Held during the high school forensics season, this meet gives students the opportunity to think critically, communicate confidently, and perform in front of judges and peers from across the conference.

Advisor Ginger Anderson noted, “In a world driven by ideas, those who can persuade, who can win hearts and change minds, hold a distinct competitive advantage. Strong speaking skills give students a professional edge over their peers.”

We are proud to recognize the following Niagara forensics students representing our school:

Christian Anderson, Saylor Anderson, Lydia Beard, Brayden Bartels, Brooke Bruemmer, Lexi Champagne, Logan Champagne, Jaxon Courts, Kaden Courts, Owen Dunkes, Wyatt Dunkes, Katara Garvaglia, Alyssa Hedmark, Ina Holt, Hazel Hongisto, Lexi Johnston, Kyle Kay, Jaylynn Kichura, Alivia Kleikamp, Jaelyn Kleikamp, Emma Kowalkowski, Myles Laarman, Sienna Larock, Lilly Leanna, Zowie Loukus, Jaliyah Macha-Helker, Jayda Marchetti, Ava McMahon, Cicely Moore, Allred Peyton Neuens, Bella Ochs, Abain Patterson, Layla Pringle, Gabby Prott, Nora Robertson, Adrianna Sanders, Bristol Sanicki, Carly Sanicki, Clayton Schroeder, Reid Schroeder, Cheyenne St. John, Lily Steinbrecher, Sydney Swanson, Elesia Sweig, Brooke Walter, Kylie Westrich, Mason Whaley, Noah Wheeler, Annalee White, Shelby Zittlow
