3e Régiment Mixte de Zouaves et Tirailleurs We are an American reenacting group dedicated to preserving the 3e's history Our impression is that of a mixed Zouave and Tirailleur regiment.

The 3e régiment mixte de zouaves et tirailleurs (or 3rd regiment of Zouaves and skirmishers mixed, RMZT) is an American living-history organization dedicated to perpetuating the memory of the millions of French soldiers which fought during the Great War (1914-1918). These mixed regiments consisted of French citizens from Algeria and mainland France. Originally designated as troops for the African

continent, they were quickly mobilized to the Western Front as the war effort grew. The regiment that we portray was a front-line unit that served throughout the war with distinction. The reformed 3e RMZT is gearing up to become a member of the Bataillon Français and part of the Great War Association (GWA). Our mission is to honor the brave men who served and paid the ultimate sacrifice to protect their families, land, and country. We strive to accurately portray these heroes by using well researched and authentic uniforms, equipment, and mannerisms.

The EBT Goes to War on May 22nd and 23rd, and we are seeking Living History Reenactors to help us showcase America’s Civil War, WWI & WWII history for the public.

All individuals that wish to participate MUST pre-register online before the event. Walk-up registration will not be permitted. This is a two-day event, and participants must be able to commit to both days. Participants may arrive as early as Friday, May 21st to set-up and breakdown can begin after the public hours end on Sunday, May 23rd. This is a living history, timeline event, not a reenactment. There will not be any live-fire battles or military scenarios.

Members of the GWA,

I regret to inform you that the Spring 2020 event is cancelled.

The health and safety of the GWA membership and their families is our top priority. This was a hard decision however, this is a pandemic and COVID-19 is serious. We have been in touch with both Federal and State Emergency officials who have advised us that this situation will likely get worse before it gets better.

The declaration of a National Emergency was made on Friday 13 MAR. Currently, both Virginia and Maryland have declared emergencies and limited the size of public gatherings. We anticipate that Pennsylvania will soon follow suit with its own State guidelines.

Additionally, our insurance policy does not cover pandemics. Should someone attend our event and contract the virus, this opens the Great War Association to serious legal issues.

It was an extremely difficult decision to make, as we all look forward to this event. If you have already paid your registration and event fee, it will be honored at the Fall event.

I urge you all to follow the health and safety guideline put out by Federal and State Authorities. Let’s take this time and make the Fall event “one to remember”.
