Congratulations to our homecoming royalty! Grace Long was crowned queen and Nathan Baranoski was crowned king during tonight's pregame ceremony, the prequel to a 48-7 drumming of Biglerville. Long and Baranoski were joined by the entire court as well as last year's king and queen—Chase Fry and Sophia Gracey—and the 20th anniversary king and queen, teachers Matthew Kump and Chelsey (Long) Piper of the class of 2007.

SENIOR PORTRAITS are coming up next week. Legacy Studios, our portrait company, will be at Big Spring on Monday and Tuesday, September 14 & 15, in the high school large group room from 3 to 8 PM. Families are under no obligation to buy portraits from this company, but to be in the senior yearbook, seniors must have portraits taken by them.

Please visit https://seniors.legacystudios.com/big-spring-hs-newville-pa/ to schedule an appointment. When scheduling, make sure the appointment is in the student's name and remember to use a non-school email address since students' internal email accounts do not receive messages from outside the district.

Seniors and senior parents who have not yet scheduled received an email earlier today with more details.

Graduates and families, here is information about two opportunities that might interest you:

Flowers for graduates are being sold by The Commencement Group with pickup for online orders occurring onsite at the ceremony. Orders can be placed here: https://www.thecommencementgroup.com/bigspringhs/

Legacy Studios will be selling graduation photos after next week's ceremony. About 1-2 weeks after the event, photos can be viewed online at events.legacystudios.com with the gallery password 4724H26.

Questions about both flowers and pictures should be directed to the vendors themselves.

Yearbook distribution will take place on May 20th in the library during Flex & Advisement according to this schedule:
- Grade 12: A Flex
- Grade 11: B Flex
- Grade 10: C Flex
- Grade 9: Advisement
- Vo-Tech: C Flex & Advisement
- Cyber students: come to the HS office any time after noon on 5/20

Those who ordered yearbooks received an email on Wednesday with these details as well.

Students who are not in the building at the times listed above should email Ms. Daugherty ([email protected]) to make arrangements. To protect our families' investments, students must pick up the books themselves or have siblings get them. For anyone else to pick up a student's yearbook, a signed note that gives permission must be provided.

Forgot to order? It is NOT TOO LATE. Extra yearbooks will be sold beginning on May 22—we need to give those who ordered them time to examine them for damage before we sell the overruns. However, students are welcome to bring money and order forms to Ms. Daugherty in the library at any time to get on the waiting list for extra books. They will be distributed on a first come/first served basis, and the money is needed to hold your spot (and would be returned if we run out of books).
