The Shreve-Price family, had a packed summer! They started by visiting Grandma in Arizona, then traveled to Thailand, where their son competed in the International Geography Bee and earned multiple gold medals! They also met up with Laura Kinney and her husband to bike from Pittsburgh to Cumberland.

After completing her master’s degree in the United States, our new faculty member, Elena Morales, returned home to Spain to spend time with family! She got to celebrate Spain’s World Cup victory with her town and spent a month working at a summer camp before traveling to Paris to visit one of her best friends!

Spending the summer rowing on Boathouse Row with Vesper’s High Performance Team, Haley Uliasz, had an exciting season on the water! She competed in regattas both domestically and internationally, earning first place at the Independence Day Regatta in Philadelphia.

Mike Sherman and his wife, Wendy, took a trip out West this summer, visiting Los Angeles, Portland, and Eugene! They flew to Portland, where they enjoyed the beautiful coastal scenery and visited some George School folks before heading to Eugene to watch elite track and field athletes compete in the Prefontaine Classic.

Starting the school year on the go, Emily Carmichael visited six colleges to learn more about each campus and gather information she can share with students—because, as a college counselor, that’s what she does best! She visited UConn, Mississippi State University, the University of Alabama, Trinity College, Connecticut College, and Wesleyan University.

Rachel Zobel spent the summer with her graduate school colleagues at the University of Delaware, enjoying plenty of fun while wrapping up her doctoral research. She also explored some new hobbies, including visiting different caves with her stepdaughter. When she wasn’t busy adventuring, Rachel enjoyed soaking up the sunshine with her extra-sleepy puppy, Barkley!

Kenzie W. ‘27 & Ana B. ‘28 spent part of their summer training at the USRowing Pathways Development Camp in Chattanooga, Tennessee. While there, they raced in a variety of boat classes and learned from former Olympians and other highly accomplished rowing coaches.

Jaylah M. ‘28 has been participating in the Youth Inclusion Intiative summer program, where she has gained hands-on environmental experience and allowed her to explore a path towards a career in environmental protection.

Recent grads Cecilia Y. ’25 and Fiona W. ’26 reunited this summer for a visit to Qinghai Lake in China. After first meeting at George School, they’ve made it a tradition to travel together each year!

On a mission trip with her church, Morrisville Presbyterian, Ella H. ‘30 volunteered at the Appalachian South Folklife Center, helping repair and replace old, leaking windows to support the local community.

Lucy S. ‘28 attended the two-week Pre-College Musical Theatre Intensive hosted by Marymount Manhattan College and Northeastern in New York City. She trained with expert faculty in acting, singing, and performance techniques while building a strong foundation in musical theatre.

Another pair of recent grads, Marienne L. ‘26 and Arthur D. ‘26 celebrated the start of their next chapter by traveling through Europe, visiting France, Switzerland, and Germany!

This year, George School students and faculty partnered with the African American Museum of Bucks County to help preserve the life stories of local African American elders in written and visual form.

The museum officially opened to the public on Juneteenth and is now waiting to be explored. We hope you will visit and experience all it has to offer.

For Julia Gluschuk ’26, it meant stepping onto one of the world’s biggest stages for young dancers: the Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP) finals, akin to the Olympics for ballet. The international competition draws top young dancers from around the world.“

Congratulations to Emma W. ‘28, Athena M. ‘29, Caden M. ‘29, & Yasmine Z. ‘29 of the Documentaries for Justice Class!

Their film exploring the removal of the slavery memorial on Independence Mall earned 2nd place in the Speak Truth to Power Video Contest and was screened at the Tribeca Film Festival on June 6. Our students were also honored by Kerry Kennedy for their powerful storytelling and thoughtful exploration of public perspectives.

“It is hard to not play softball when coaches and parents expect you to switch and don’t see a future for girls in baseball,” Zoë commented.“But at George School, I had the opportunity to play the game I grew up playing; I want to be a role model for younger girls — but I also just love to play baseball.”
