Preservation Action brought this to our attention. Thanks Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick for getting this conversation going. Easements are a critical tools to preserve historic properties and landscapes that create and support our sense of place. The more straightforward their application, the more they can be used reasonably and responsibly.

"The Pennsylvania Historical & Museum Commission (PHMC) has shared that the FY 23/24 Pennsylvania Historic Preservation Tax Credit application cycle will officially open at 8:00 AM on Monday October 2, 2023.
The DCED on-line application has been updated and interested applicants can prepare their applications for submission at any time but will not be able to hit the submit button until 8:00 AM on October 2.
Information about the program is available on DCED’s website and PHMC’s website (application dates will be updated on PHMC’s website next week).

Together with American Express, the National Trust for Historic Preservation is once again launching the Backing Historic Small Restaurants Grant Program to help restaurants address critical needs amid ongoing economic challenges. Twenty-five restaurants will receive $40,000 in funding!

The African American Cultural Heritage Action Fund from National Trust for Historic Preservation opened the Letter of Intent (LOI) period for its 2023 National Grant Program. Grants provide a range of funding from $50,000 to $150,000 for ongoing preservation activities for historic places like sites, museums and landscapes that represent African American cultural heritage.
Through its National Grant Program, the Action Fund supports projects focused on African American cultural heritage, including capital projects, organizational capacity-building, project planning, and programming and interpretation. There are new priorities for this grant round: historic sites and preservation projects, Historically Black Colleges and Universities, and historic places designed by 20th-century Black architects in the Modern architecture style.
