As we wrap up the 2025-26 school year, take a look at some highlights from the Celebration of Learning on our Upper Campus! Middle and upper school students had the chance to showcase everything they have studied this year--from biology to art to history and innovation.
On Friday, May 29, 2026, DC held its 69th Commencement for the Class of 2026. What a privilege to watch these students graduate and celebrate them! The verse they chose as a class is Romans 12:4-5: "For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others." May the Lord bless and keep them as they begin a new chapter.

We want to take a moment to recognize some AWESOME accomplishments by our middle school students!
Photo 1: At Music in the Parks, our MS Band received an Excellent Rating & Fourth Place; the 7th & 8th Choir received a Superior Rating, First Place, & Best Overall Choir.
Photo 2: The Academic Teams (AcTs) Challenge, won by the team, The Boys Are Back. In this competition, 8th-grade teams go head-to-head in a Hi-Q style competition with categories that are part of the 8th-grade curriculum. The winning team receives its name engraved on the Church Young Trophy.
Photo 3: Middle school students involved in the What's So Cool About Manufacturing produced a video for Southco. The team received the award for Outstanding Overall Video.
One of our more recent traditions here at DC is our Celebrations of Learning! These events showcase everything our students have learned throughout the year, and the beautiful artwork they have created. Enjoy this highlight video from the Lower School Celebration of Learning! It's always a joy to welcome parents and grandparents into our classrooms to experience this with us.
Last week, our seniors celebrated their final day of school with a special chapel, Lower Campus parade, grad rehearsal, a special lunch, and a celebratory send-off! We can't wait see them walk across that stage at Commencement on Friday!

Today we remember and honor those men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. We are grateful for their sacrifice and hold in prayer the families who carry that loss.

We are so thankful for the beautiful weather recently and the chance to get outside to learn. Even in art class, we can spend time outside! First grade got to experiment with liquid watercolor spray resist, creating some awesome and super colorful pieces that incorporate shapes of nature.

The upper school Earth and Environment class, led by Dr. Clipston, assisted with a saponin application to control the earthworm population in a forest study enclosure at The Waterloo Mills Preserve. This is part of a multi-year partnership between DC and the Brandywine Conservancy to document the negative effect of non-native earthworms on forest floor regeneration!
Each division holds a Celebration of Learning--a time for students to showcase what they have learned throughout the year. It is a powerful reminder of how students are learning to see themselves as a part of God's Story! Take a look at the ECC Celebration of Learning in this short video!
