Are you a registered nurse (RN) or an advanced practice registered nurses (APRN) currently working in the United States? We want to hear from you.

Nurse scientists from the Association for Leadership Science in Nursing are conducting a research study to understand nurse’s use of social media including what platforms they are on and how they use them to make career/employment decisions.

As a profession, we are critically behind in understanding the types of social media platforms nurses use, for what purposes, how it impacts career/employment decisions, and how these factors vary by different nurse characteristics such as age, race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexuality, ability, work setting, and years in nursing practice. Help us fill this gap so we are better equipped to use social media to connect, attract, and create environments where nurses want to work and stay.

The survey will take about 10 minutes to complete. Participation is voluntary, and you can stop taking the survey at any time. Eligibility

Larissa Africa, MBA, BSN, RN, FAAN, Figaro L. Loresto Jr., PhD, RN, and Martha Grubaugh, PhD, RN, NE-BC, will be presenting at the Association for Leadership Science in Nursing (ALSN) 2022 International Conference on Friday, November 4, 2022 in Cleveland, OH. Their presentation titled "Exploring the Relationship Between New Graduate Nurse Psychological Capital and Turnover" will discuss how Psychological Capital influences actual turnover among new graduate nurses.

We are pleased to announce three Versant team members will be presenting posters at the American Academy of Nursing Health Policy Conference in Washington, D.C.

Ashley Badders, MSN, RN, CCRN will be presenting her poster titled “Policy Engagement Among Staff Nurses” on October 27, 2022. This poster presents a pilot study looking at levels of policy engagement among staff nurses in Ohio. This study was done as part of Ashley’s DNP scholarly project through Case Western Reserve University with support from faculty mentors.

Larissa Africa, MBA, BSN, RN, FAAN, Martha Grubaugh, PhD, RN, NE-BC, and Figaro L. Loresto Jr., PhD, RN will be presenting their poster titled “Turnover Intent, Length of Tenure: Impact on New Graduate RN Turnover” on October 28, 2022. Their poster focuses on how integrated structures, processes and programs are necessary to support new graduate nurses beyond residency programs to mitigate turnover.

As a pioneer in the transition to practice space, she led the deployment of a competency-based model that integrates and standardizes nursing workforce development across the entire healthcare continuum, addressing high-demand areas such as long-term care, home health, and advanced practice nursing. Larissa’s collective work continues to change how healthcare organizations integrate and sustain workforce retention and practice solutions.

Larissa holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Mount St. Mary’s University, a Master’s Degree in Business Administration: Health Care Management from the University of Phoenix, and an Executive Women in Leadership certificate through Cornell University. She is an author of numerous highly recognized publications and book chapters and a national and international speaker. Larissa was inducted as a Fellow into the American Academy of Nursing in 2021.
