Fun times at our Parkside Pajama Day Carnival this week! 😊

These are photos from our trip to China. We enjoyed fan and ribbon dancing, building pagodas, playing games with chopsticks, and coloring Chinese characters.

All the activities were part of the Chinese New Year celebrations, including the final day of the Lunar New Year—the Lantern Festival—and the traditional “waking of the dragon.”

Last week, a touch of winter magic came inside our classroom! With so much snow, it was the perfect opportunity for hands-on snowy play ❄️☃️

We sponsored a lion named Nadala and Miss Lesley showed everyone where she lives and what she looks like. We have been tracking her and seeing what she is up to every day. 🦁

We also made a snowman art project and got to make a real snowman outside! ☃️

We have had had a busy month at school!

We have been learning about hibernation and we even made a cave for our stuffed animals to hibernate in. We have also been making lots of thanksgiving art projects and talking about what we are thankful for.

We had such a fun Halloween week! We spent the week making crafts - bats, pumpkins, and ghosts to decorate our classrooms with.

We also made spooky Halloween crowns that we wore on Friday for our Halloween festivities. Miss Bid taught the kids how to play musical chairs and then we played freeze dance and had a parade around our rooms.

Our students have been getting into the Halloween spirit! They’ve been busy crafting spooky decorations just like this festive fall wreath! 🎃🕸️

Fall is officially here, and somehow September is already coming to an end! It’s been such a busy month filled with new friends, fun art projects with Miss Allyson, and plenty of apple-themed art and science. 🍂🍁🍎

We spent last week at camp talking about the ocean. We read Eric Carle’s Mr. Seahorse and did our own creative interpretations. We learned about blue crabs and painted fish on fishing poles. We studied different types of seashells and did fish rubbings.

We are all ready for summer and the beach!

As this year ends we say goodbye to many wonderful families and our graduates headed to Kindergarten.

We will miss you all and hope you come back and visit!

For all our returning families have a great summer and we will see you in September.
