We feel that children develop to their full potential when they are given the opportunity and environment that allows them to "want to know". In a nutshell that is what we are all about - helping a child explore the start of the roadway leading to knowledge, awareness, and self-expression. Given the proper care, attention, and surroundings combined with an encouragement to learn, we help a child to gain the confidence and desire to progress at his or her own pace. Each and every child is special in ways that we strive to recognize. These special qualities are the ones that must be allowed to flourish. Every child will be given the opportunity to develop in a creative and social experience within a safe and attentive atmosphere. Our curriculum is geared towards the achievement of self-expression in creative activities and will concentrate on cognitive, emotional, social, and physical development while allowing the child to have fun as they explore the exciting world around them. Recognizing the necessity to balance a child's developmental progress, we concentrate on the social, intellectual, emotional, and physical growth of the child through introducing creative ways to explore and learn. Activities and experiences are structured to promote the cognitive and motor development in a non-threatening environment. Each child is encouraged to grow and learn through the use of a variety of media and materials, and always at the individual child's own pace.

These are photos from our trip to China. We enjoyed fan and ribbon dancing, building pagodas, playing games with chopsticks, and coloring Chinese characters.

We have had had a busy month at school!

We have been learning about hibernation and we even made a cave for our stuffed animals to hibernate in. We have also been making lots of thanksgiving art projects and talking about what we are thankful for.

We had such a fun Halloween week! We spent the week making crafts - bats, pumpkins, and ghosts to decorate our classrooms with.

We also made spooky Halloween crowns that we wore on Friday for our Halloween festivities. Miss Bid taught the kids how to play musical chairs and then we played freeze dance and had a parade around our rooms.

We spent last week at camp talking about the ocean. We read Eric Carle’s Mr. Seahorse and did our own creative interpretations. We learned about blue crabs and painted fish on fishing poles. We studied different types of seashells and did fish rubbings.

We are all ready for summer and the beach!

As this year ends we say goodbye to many wonderful families and our graduates headed to Kindergarten.

We will miss you all and hope you come back and visit!

For all our returning families have a great summer and we will see you in September.

Thank you for sharing your amazing children with us.
