Each year, the SCCC Foundation awards $160,000 in scholarships to deserving students.

Helpful Tips:

While writing your essay, self-promote and acknowledge your successes!

Highlight your achievements—this is your chance to show the scholarship committee why you're a strong candidate. Think of it like telling your story: focus on what you've accomplished, how you overcame challenges, and what you learned along the way. It’s not bragging—it’s giving them the full picture of your hard work and potential.

For those of you who applied to our scholarships last year, remember you have changed and grown over this past year as an SCCC student. Remember to highlight your growth and accomplishments during this past SCCC academic year.

Submit it… then immediately start tweaking like “wait hold up did I attach EVERYTHING??”

Double-check it. Then double-check it again. And please, for the love of GPA, don’t ghost your emails—“important update” is not optional reading 😭

Nothing worse than realizing your “final essay” was still in draft… and the email warning you had been sitting there the whole time.

Pro Tip: Check your emails! The Foundation sends reminders about missing application sections and letters of recommendation.
