In this day and age, as all matters of finding “space” become increasingly rare in our daily lives, and as the cacophony of violence often rings far too loudly, Walker Center remains committed to "space-creation." The Barton Community is a home of graduate students who all believe in our mission of working for a better world through dialogue and community building across spiritual bounds. We are now accepting Barton Community applications for the 2019-2020 school year! Our Walker Spotlight Stories highlight the great people behind the work being done on our campus. Not only do we love getting to know the students, conference leaders, and faith leaders who come to the Walker Center, but we also love to celebrate them and share their mission with the world!
In this story, we spotlight Zahra Lee, a local Sufi leader who hosts groups at the Walker Center. Click the link to read more about her work. https://www.walkerctr.org/news/walker-spotlight-meet-zhara

If you are a Boston-area graduate student, involved in religious leadership (however you define this): Come live with other students from a variety of programs, religious traditions, and backgrounds in intentional community! We are looking for diverse, engaged, and thoughtful future residents who aim to be justice-seekers and peacemakers in communities around the globe. (Oh, and we’re also VERY affordable.) Applications for the 2019-2020 school year will become available after March 1st, but ask now and I’ll send you an application as soon as it’s available. Feel free to email me ([email protected]) for more info, or go to https://www.walkerctr.org/community-living.html. And please pass this along to anyone you think might be interested. Barton Community is part of Walker Center, a nearly-150 year old campus in Newton, MA, just outside of Boston.
