This fall, our PUDDLESTOMPERS have been investigating, creating, and discovering the wonders of nature:

🦫 Building miniature beaver dams
🐝 Crafting beehives while learning about their inner chambers
🍁 Creating trees that change colors as summer turns to fall

🍂 There’s a whole world hiding under the leaves! In two weeks, our little nature explorers searched for decomposing leaves, tiny creatures, fungi, seeds, and moist soil while learning how fallen leaves support plants and animals.

Try it at home: Gently lift a patch of leaves, look closely, and return everything when you’re finished. What will you discover? 🪱🍄🐞

🍂 The updated Fall 2026 Child–Adult lineup is here!

Make room for muddy boots, curious questions, and memorable outdoor adventures. PUDDLESTOMPERS classes invite children ages 2–5 and their grown-ups to discover the wonders of fall through hands-on nature exploration.

Registration is now open for:

Needham
Wellesley
Weston

Check out this green heron our teacher naturalist Caroline spotted with her Puddlestomeprs at the Cambridge Reservoir!

Green herons are experts at hiding along Massachusetts ponds and wetlands, and they have a clever trick up their feathers: they sometimes drop insects, twigs, or feathers onto the water to lure fish closer. 🎣
