NCS 7th and 8th graders had an opportunity to serve on their class trip to Kansas City at Harvesters Food Network. Together, they sorted thousands of pounds of potatoes that will help feed families throughout the area. Harvesters distributes more than 61 million pounds of food each year, and with 1 in 6 people facing food insecurity, it was a powerful reminder of how important serving others can be.
This trip was also a meaningful time for students to bond and talk about their plans for the summer and the future ahead. During our devotionals, we talked about how God doesn’t take a summer break from us. He is always at work in our lives. We encouraged students to stay grounded in their faith by building consistent summer routines that keep them in God’s Word and connected to Him.
We are so proud of these students for the way they served, encouraged one another, and represented our school with compassion and Christlike character. What a blessing to watch them grow together in both faith and service!
