Good evening,

We have decided to adjust the selection process for teams for soccer. On Tuesday and Thursday, we are going to have soccer evaluations to let us have a little better idea of the different skill levels of all the players. We're wanting to make sure that we have teams divided up as evenly as possible, so that all players are able to get a great experience of learning and developing while having fun. The following are the times for the different age groups to have evaluations:

Tuesday, August 25th
Pre-K - Kindergarten - 6:15 - 6:40
1st Grade - 2nd Grade - 6:45 - 7:10

Thursday, August 27th
3rd Grade - 4th Grade - 6:15 - 6:40
5th Grade - 8th Grade - 6:45 - 7:10

They can wear athletic clothing and any type of athletic shoes. To participate in the live game evaluation, your child must have shin guards. There will be other stations for the evaluation process as well.

Our new Agricultural Education Center is already providing incredible hands-on learning opportunities for our Bears! From our elementary and middle school Agriculture classes to our high school Ag Mechanics and Metal Fabrication classes, our students are putting in the work with Mr. Gore to learn more about the Ag industry. Mr. Mullen, with SRTC, has been guiding some of our high school students through the basic skills of welding. Together, they have been helping our students learn skills that extend far beyond the classroom.

We’re excited to see students of all ages learning by doing, exploring career pathways, and developing skills that can lead to bright futures right here in Southwest Georgia.

Just a reminder that this week is the last week for soccer registration. We will have a parent meeting on Monday at 6PM in the cafeteria!

Soccer registration is live now at the link below! It is open to children everywhere. You don't have to attend Baker County Schools to participate in the league. Cost is $20 for each player. Notice, we have lowered and raised the age for soccer. Please sign your child up to begin learning the next big thing in Baker County! No experience required!

We are incredibly proud to celebrate the tremendous academic progress our students demonstrated from the 2024–2025 school year to the 2025–2026 school year!

📚 Social Studies
• 8th Grade U.S. History increased by 18.09%

🔬 Science
• 8th Grade Science increased by 13.04%
• Biology increased by 6.11%

➗ Mathematics
• 3rd Grade Math increased by 16.11%
• 6th Grade Math increased by an outstanding 21.48%
• 7th Grade Math increased by 2.00%
• 8th Grade Math increased by 6.09%
• Algebra I increased by 3.62%

These impressive gains reflect the hard work, dedication, and determination of our students, teachers, administrators, staff members, families, and community partners.
