Undergraduate and graduate nursing students provide primary care, nursing service, and health education in Managua, one of the poorest communities in Nicaragua. BC has a longstanding relationship with this community and seeks to improve conditions by empowering local health promoters

Many regions of Nicaragua rely heavily on the sugar cane industry for their economy. Around 70% of these sugar cane workers will develop Chronic Kidney Disease, though the cause of such a high morbidity rate is still unknown.
