In honor of those who serve dutifully every day (led by our wonderful School Resource Officer, Anna Cope). In honor of those who have and are serving in our branches of the US Military (including our wonderful custodian and US Army Veteran, Mr. Rickie Shook). And in memory of those who lost their lives during the attacks on the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and Flight 93 on Sept. 11 . . . South Newton recognizes all of these groups with its annual Patriot Day Parade (held this morning, Friday, September 11, 8:30 am).

Our students had a great day honoring Dolly Parton and her love and support of books and literacy! We had lots of pink, bright colors, western wear, and sparkles! Plus all students, whether they brought in books to swap or not, got to pick a book to take home! Dolly would have wanted it that way! 🩷📚

🧡🐯🖤We were so proud to hear from our District Teacher of the Year, Amber Travis, and our District Principal of the Year, Elizabeth Moseley, as they shared words of encouragement and inspiration at our opening convocation. Their leadership, passion, and dedication are the perfect reminder of the impact we can make together as we begin another year of serving our students and families. 🧡🐯🖤

And an extra special congratulations to Mrs. Travis! 🎉 Thanks to Mike Johnson Toyota, she’ll be cruising in a new car for the school year! 🚗
