We just learned that Stan's violin student Julie Jung, a high school freshman from Lincoln, has been accepted to the Youth Symphony (YS) at the New England Conservatory (NEC) for next year. This is a senior orchestra for advanced pre-college musicians, which tours internationally every two years... This year, Julie is in the NEC Youth Repertory Orchestra (YRO), and last year she was principal second violin in the NEC Junior Repertory Orchestra (JRO)... So many acronyms, and Julie is successfully navigating her way up through them all. CONGRATULATIONS, Julie!!

Last weekend, four of Stan's violin students participated in the BAY STATE STRINGS CONTEST, held in Natick. They all received a Certificate of Recognition for their beautiful performances, and they all made Stan very proud! Moreover, Stan's student Roland got THIRD PRIZE in the 11-14 age group division. Roland has been studying violin with Stan for four years, starting as a complete beginner, so this is a HUGE accomplishment!! Here is a photo of Roland with Stan, holding his 3-rd prize trophy. CONGRATULATIONS!!
