Our Story

Oregon Coast Community College's Navigate Program is designed to inspire, inform, guide and support students finding their way to – and successfully through- higher education.

Our program goals include:

1. To help students choose to graduate from high school and seek higher education.

2. To heighten family awareness that college attendance is a realistic goal.

3. To improve levels of positive communication between parents, students, and school staff.

4. To help parents and students understand the requirements for graduation and success in the U.S. high school system.

5. To heighten family awareness of options for financing college expenses.

6. To increase student’s skills and knowledge of the application process.

7. To increase families’ sense of empowerment to advocate and work to improve their schools.

Ways we can help include but not limited to:

1. Discover your goals

2. Decide which college is best for you (2-year, 4-year, large, small, rural, urban).

3. Fill out college applications

4. Contact schools of interest

5. Find out how high school classes will help in college

6. Fill out your FAFSA application

7. Fill out the OSAC application

8. Write scholarship essays

9. Search for scholarships

10. Explore programs at OCCC
