Let’s stop blaming parents. Too often parents are told that if they just read to their children more, reading difficulties will resolve. This unintentionally places blame on parents and is not fair. The solution includes early intervention and proper instruction.

We’re working on adding some new toys and play materials to our Foundations (K&1st) classroom!

Play is such an important part of learning for our youngest students. These materials will give them more opportunities to use their imaginations, create, problem-solve, talk with friends, and learn how to play and work together.

They’ll also support our upcoming EL Education module, It’s Toy Time: Let’s Learn and Share! In the module, students will use toys as they practice describing, comparing, sorting, sharing, and discuss preferences.

I put together an Amazon Wish List with some toys that would be great additions to our classroom. If you’d like to purchase something for Foundations, we would be so appreciative! There is absolutely no obligation - even sharing the list with others is helpful.

Thank you to Newport Area Chamber Of Commerce and all of the wonderful families, friends, and community members who joined us last night! It was truly magical to see our school filled with laughter, conversation, and connection. We are incredibly grateful for the kindness and support this community has already shown us, and we are ready and excited for our new chapter to begin - the first day of school on Monday! 🥳
