Cocke County High School Over 100 years CCHS has been providing quality education to young people in Cocke County.

This page will continue to be an official source of all things Cocke County High School! Cocke County High School will celebrate the 100th graduating class during the 2017-2018 school year. CCHS has a long history, with county leaders deciding in 2017 there was a need for a comprehensive high school. Later, our county was one of the first to combine vocational training and academic classes. Since

the current auditorium doors opened during the 1963-1964 school year, no significant improvements have been made in the auditorium. With your generosity, that will soon change as the auditorium is renovated to the best of our ability based upon funds contributed. In addition, other displays and events are planned including a permanent timeline display of the first 100 years.

And our last announcement is not a new face but a new position…we are excited for Mrs. Cimoch to be in our English Department.

This school year marks her 12th year in education and her 4th year here at CCHS. After over a decade in Special Education, she is excited for this transition into English Language Arts Inclusion. Mrs. Cimoch looks forward to supporting and inspiring our students, as well as working with the wonderful ELA team.

We would also like to introduce to the social studies department Ms. Austene Smith!

Ms. Smith has been with Cocke County Schools for 3 years now, with 2 years spent teaching 6th grade ELA and Social Studies at Bridgeport.

She has a 5 year old daughter who is starting Kindergarten this year!

She graduated from ETSU with a bachelors in History and served in the Marine Corps as a Heavy Equipment Operator.

She loves playing video games, crocheting, reading, trying foreign foods, and drinking coffee.

She absolutely adores history and believes that knowing history can make a difference in our everyday lives.

One of her favorite Bible Verses is John 1:5: "And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not."

One of her favorite quotes is: “If people cannot write well, they cannot think well, and if they cannot think well, others will do their thinking for them.” -George Orwell
