Occupational Health Registered Nurse (RN)
Location: Louisville, KY (On-Site – Federal Facility)
Schedule: As-Needed | Monday–Friday (Daytime Hours Only)
Employment Type: Contract / 1099 or W-2 (to be discussed)
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Occupational Health Registered Nurse (RN) to provide on-site clinical support for a federal Occupational Health Unit in Louisville, Kentucky. This role supports government employees through injury care, wellness services, medical surveillance, and preventative health initiatives.
This is a professional, compliance-driven clinical role ideal for a nurse with strong emergency or urgent care experience and a background in occupational health.

Key Responsibilities
• Triage and treat employee injuries and illnesses in accordance with medical protocols
• Conduct wellness screenings and medical surveillance examinations
• Perform diagnostic testing (EKG, vision, hearing, glucose testing, phlebotomy, urinalysis, etc.)
• Administer vaccinations, medications, and allergy injections per protocol
• Provide health, wellness, and lifestyle coaching with a holistic approach
• Deliver first aid and CPR during emergency situations
• Document and report needle sticks and body fluid exposure incidents
• Maintain confidential employee medical records in compliance with federal standards
• Coordinate care with physicians and government nursing staff
• Maintain daily census logs and activity reports
• Schedule and support employee health examinations

Required Qualifications
Education
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Experience
• Minimum 5 years as a Registered Nurse in one or more of the following:
o Emergency Room (ER)
o Critical Care
o Urgent Care
o Ambulatory Care
• Minimum 2 years of experience in an Occupational Health Clinic
Licensure & Certifications
• Active, unrestricted Kentucky RN license
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• BLS Instructor certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of start

Work Schedule & Environment
• As-needed coverage (up to 8 hours per day)
• Daytime hours only (no nights, weekends, or federal holidays)
• On-site federal facility
• Professional clinical setting with government-furnished workspace
