Explore Lincoln County’s rich cultural heritage Saturday, Sept. 12, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Pacific Maritime Heritage Center.

The free program will feature:
*Author and historian Ted Cox discussing the Toledo Incident
*A screening of “The Siletz Story,” featuring Tribal leaders Bud Lane and Delores Pigsley
*Traditional Mexican dances performed by Ballet Folklorico Oregon Coast
*nacks and refreshments following the performances

The program is presented in conjunction with the center’s “Oregon Voices” and “Currents in Lincoln County” exhibits. Admission is free, with donations suggested.

REMINDER! Today, Thursday, September 3, 2026, our school buses will be conducting a route dress rehearsal at their regularly scheduled route times.

Drivers will be traveling their assigned routes to verify route timing and traffic conditions in preparation for the start of school.

Please do not send your student out to the bus stop or attempt to board the bus. Buses will not be transporting students during this rehearsal.

Thank you for your cooperation as we work to ensure routes are ready for a safe and successful start to the school year.

All items are buy one, get one free, with hardcover books for $2, paperbacks and DVDs for $1, and CDs for 25 cents each.

What a difference! The new track at Newport High School is complete! These before-and-after drone photos from Jon Zagel show the transformation made possible through the voter-approved 2025 bond. The approximately 30-year-old track received a full replacement, including removal of the existing surface down to the asphalt base and installation of a new track surface.
Thank you to Lincoln County voters for investing in facilities that will serve our students and community for years to come.

Our partners at the Oregon Coast Aquarium once again welcomed LCSD staff and their families for a special back-to-school event. New and returning staff had the opportunity to connect with colleagues, explore the Aquarium and even take part in behind-the-scenes tours.

Thank you, Oregon Coast Aquarium, for supporting LCSD staff and helping us start the year on a great note!
