Wow, Newport Elementary!! Our first soda can tab collection of the year brought in over 165 pounds of tabs. The Ronald McDonald House will be so appreciative of our efforts!

A HUGE congratulations to Mrs. Catanese’s class for collecting almost 40 pounds during this round of the competition! They are the winners of Round 1 and will enjoy a tasty treat in the days to come. Way to go!

Thank you to EVERYONE who collected! Our next collection will be in December, so keep putting those tabs aside.

Did you know you can earn money for Newport Elementary by downloading the Box Tops app and scanning receipts for products you already buy? It’s so easy!

Step 1 - Download the Box Tops app, and designate Newport Elementary as your school of choice.
Step 2 - Every time you buy groceries, scan your receipts using the app.
Step 3 - Let the app tell you if you have any qualifying purchases, and how much you’ve earned for the school.
Step 4 - Pat yourself on the back for a job well done. We appreciate your support!

Did you know we’re having a friendly competition at the elementary school this school year to benefit the Ronald McDonald House? It’s class against class to see which homeroom can collect the most soda can tabs, and our first collection is this Friday, August 28th.

Send in your tabs, labeled with your name and teacher’s name, to Mrs. Whisler in the Discovery Room by Friday. Which class do you think will collect the most and win a tasty treat? Best of luck, Newport Elementary!!

Stopping at least 10 feet away includes when they are loading and unloading in front of the school!

As students head back to school, do your part as a driver to obey traffic laws. When you encounter a school bus with its red lights flashing and stop arm activated, stop at least 10 feet away. See more school bus safety tips at bit.ly/PDT-Bus.

We had a great turnout at Back to School Night this evening. Thanks to everyone who took part in our Farmers Market activities, met with teachers, and visited classrooms. It’s going to be a great school year!

Back to School Night Update!
Dear NES Families, Due to weather, Newport Elementary’s PBIS Community Event will be in the Cafeteria and Gym. This part of back-to-school night is from 6pm - 7pm. Please enter at Door 2 (by the nurse’s office) for our community event. Classroom Visits will be from 7pm to 8pm. We look forward to seeing you there.

As we prepare for a new school year, please remember traffic flow and parking around the elementary. There is NO student drop off or pick up at the main entrance during arrival and dismissal.

Our buses will have their stop signs deployed and lights flashing when dropping off students in the morning. Stop signs and flashing lights means DO NOT PASS 🚌🚌

Free NES Garden Tote!

Hello Newport Elementary School Families,

The Newport Elementary School Garden has had a wonderful first summer season! Thanks to the dedication of our community volunteers, the garden has been growing and producing a variety of fresh, delicious vegetables. Now we're excited to share the harvest with our NES families while celebrating the abundance our local farming community provides.

To celebrate our first successful summer season, NES families are invited to receive a FREE fresh produce tote filled with vegetables from the NES Garden and local farms, along with easy-to-follow recipes to enjoy at home.

Join us during Newport Elementary School Back-to-School Night on THURSDAY, August 20, and stop by the Newport Elementary School Garden to see what's growing, learn more about the garden, and pick up your produce tote.
