Looking for an engaging and rewarding on-campus job? We’re hiring writing consultants for the fall semester!

Writing consultants work with fellow students to discuss their writing, acting as a “reader” for their work. As a consultant, you will support student writers across disciplines on a variety of writing tasks. If you are collaborative, willing to learn, and want to help other students while earning money, we encourage you to apply!

Writing consultants must have earned 30 credits hour and have a 3.5 GPA or above. We welcome applicants from all majors to help build a diverse and vibrant writing community! Apply here!

Hi, I’m Kaitlyn. I have loved writing since I was very young and love how it lets people explore other worlds and characters. I am a Junior English major focusing on the Writing Studies track. I want to one day have a career in publishing, and the Writing Center is helping me gain skills to use in that field. Hi, I’m Kathleen, a junior Honors College student majoring in Library Informatics with a minor in Environmental Studies. I’ve been a Writing Center consultant since Fall 2020. I’m interested in conservation, geology, and research on Kentucky history. I’m excited to help you with writing projects!

Meet our new consultants! This is Robin.
Robin is a transfer student from Vincennes University. A junior in the Theatre program, with theatre as her major and entrepreneurial studies as her minor, and she is working towards opening her own business in the future. She enjoys writing in every form and phase but is drawn mostly to poetry and has been working on several books that she hopes to eventually have published. This is her first semester in the writing center, but as a substitute teacher she works with students on a normal basis. As a writing consultant she looks to help you to be a better writer.

Dave is a senior English major on the Literature and Cultural Studies track. He enjoys writing about books and literature. He also writes about and plays music. Dave joined the Writing Center to help other writers become better at what they do and to explore the craft of writing with his peers.
