Pharrell Williams is from Virginia Beach. In 2021 he opened a private school twenty minutes up the road in Norfolk.

YELLOWHAB took forty to fifty children in its first year, in grades three to five, and charged them nothing. The costs were covered by donations.

It does not group children by grade. It groups them by where they actually are.

The name is half his non-profit, Yellow, and half the Mars habitat from The Martian — because the idea was to build somewhere children could survive and grow in conditions that were not built for them.

On why he did it rather than fixing the existing system, he was blunt: it needs to be broken.

Master P started with $10,000 and slept in the back of his own record store with his wife and baby Romeo. Now, his net worth is $250M 👑 But what is the story behind that⁉️

“I come from a poor culture of people. Nobody in my family had money. I had to break the negative cycle and pass that on to my kids.” - Master P 🙏🏽

After receiving the money after his grandfather’s passing, P moved to Richmond, California and opened No Limit Records and Tapes. Business was slow at first, so the young family lived in the back of the store while he learned firsthand what people were buying and how the music business worked.

That little record shop eventually became the foundation for No Limit Records.

Instead of giving up ownership for a traditional record deal, Master P built his business around independence and later secured a distribution deal with Priority Records while maintaining control over his music.

No Limit would go on to become one of Hip Hop’s biggest independent empires, releasing records from Master P, Silkk the Shocker, Mystikal, Mia X, Snoop Dogg and more. Master P’s team has said the label sold more than 100 million records worldwide.

From sleeping behind a record store to building an empire. That deserves huge respect!! 💯
