Our farewell keiko for Jun. Sad day, but we wish him the best for his next chapter in Atlanta! Lots of good kendo in Atlanta, so we hope he will continue to train so we can cross swords again soon.

Hampton Roads Kendo Dojo is excited to offer a special Tuesday morning Kendo class just for homeschoolers.

This class runs from 10:00–11:30 AM and is open to teens ages 13 and up. Kendo is a great way for homeschool students to stay active, build discipline, confidence, and focus, while being part of a supportive martial arts community.

If you’re looking to add a structured physical education option to your homeschool schedule, we’d love to connect.

A great weekend of Kendo at Baltimore Annapolis Kendo Tournament this past Saturday and Sunday. Congratulations to both Matthews for placing first and second at their divisions!

Application deadline is before Friday, September 20, 2024.

Below is a snapshot of the schedule:

Saturday, October 5, 2024
• Southeastern United State Kendo Federation (“SEUSKF”) Tournament (All Day)
• Doors open at 7:30 am and registration/warmup until 8:15 am.
• Registration fee is $40.00 per person.
• Bento/lunch is $15.00 each
• Banquet/Dinner party (more information below) seating at 7:00 pm
• Japanese Cuisine buffet $36.00 per person

Sunday, October 6, 2024
• National Championship 2026 Tryouts (Sunday morning)
• Doors open at 7:30 am and registration/warmup until 8:00 am.
• Details will be sent by SEUSKF

Shinsa up to 4 Dan (Sunday afternoon)

• Doors open at 12:00 pm and warm up until 1:00 pm
• Promotion test starts at 1:00 pm.
• Godo Keiko (if time allows) 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm
