Coastal ESOL

Students who communicate at an emergent level seeking to learn English for everyday living.

This class introduces students to basic English structure and vocabulary through speaking, listening, reading, and writing. Students learn strategies for emergent reading, listening, and pronunciation skills that will assist in basic comprehension and conversation for everyday living.

English Level 1 (beginner)

Students seeking to begin written and spoken English for everyday living.

This class focuses on developing English communication through speaking, continued vocabulary development, reading, listening comprehension, pronunciation skills and writing (some grammar) to improve spoken and written communication for everyday living.

English Level 2 (high beginner)

Students seeking to improve written and spoken English for everyday living.

This class focuses on English communication through speaking, continued vocabulary development, reading, listening comprehension, pronunciation skills and writing (grammar focus) to improve spoken and written communication for everyday living.

English Level 3 (intermediate)

Students seeking to improve written and spoken English for everyday living.

This class focuses on English communication through speaking, continued vocabulary development, reading, listening comprehension, pronunciation skills and writing (grammar focus) to improve spoken and written communication for everyday living.

English Level 4 (high intermediate)

Students seeking to improve written and spoken English for everyday living.

This class focuses on English communication through speaking, continued vocabulary development, reading, listening comprehension, pronunciation skills and writing (grammar focus) to improve spoken and written communication for everyday living.

Academic Writing (Intermediate+)

Students seeking to improve written and spoken English for job/work and test preparation (GED, TOEFL/IELTS).

This class focuses on spoken a written English communication. To prepare, students will work on grammar, sentence structure, paragraph writing, reading, listening comprehension, pronunciation, and interview skills.

Citizenship Preparation (Level 1, 2, or 3)

Students seeking to focus on preparing for the citizenship application and interviews.

This class focuses on American history and the 100 possible interview questions related to the citizenship test. To prepare, students will read and write about American history and practice interviews.
