Zeta in the Spotlight - Soror LaKuana Williams

Alpha Beta Zeta Chapter • Spring 2022

“Impactful.” That one word beautifully captures Soror LaKuana Williams’ Zeta experience.

Initiated into Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated through Alpha Beta Zeta Chapter in Spring 2022, Soror Williams was drawn to Zeta’s rich history and foundational principles.

Since becoming a Zeta, she has embraced opportunities to serve through the MIP Committee and Z-HOPE, where she has enjoyed connecting with others, sharing Zeta’s principles, and giving back alongside her Sorors.

Although her Zeta journey is still unfolding, Soror Williams is looking forward to growing, serving, and eventually stepping into a leadership role within the chapter.

For Soror Williams, impact is where values become action. She believes the principles of Zeta Phi Beta are not simply ideals to admire, but a foundation for creating meaningful and measurable change in the lives of others.

Soror Williams hopes to leave behind a legacy grounded in scholarship, service, sisterhood, and Finer Womanhood—allowing her Zeta light to continue shining through every opportunity to make a difference.

On September 12, 2026, Alpha Beta Zeta (ABZ) Chapter of Newport News and Hampton collected over 800 school-supply items to donate to our Adopt-a-School partner, Aberdeen Elementary!

Each year, ABZ will support Aberdeen Elementary by donating school supplies twice a year—once in the fall and again in the winter. Our commitment goes beyond supplies; we proudly support events and activities that bring families, students, and the school community together.

Throughout the year, ABZ participates in activities such as:
• Welcome Back to School
• Back to School Night
• Educational Workshops
• The upcoming Trunk-or-Treat

We are proud to serve, support, and uplift our community!

We will never forget.

Each year, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated solemnly pauses to honor the lives lost, the courage of first responders who gave everything, and the resilience of survivors who continue to bear the weight of that day. We remember not only the tragedy, but the unity, strength, and humanity that emerged in its wake.
Our hearts remain with the families, friends, and communities forever changed by the events of September 11th. Their pain is enduring, and so is our commitment to remembrance.
