On Thursday, we inducted 11 new members into the Pi Sigma Alpha political science honor society and recognized our departmental honors graduates. Laura Schmitt '17 returned to campus to give the keynote address. Congratulations to all!

We were thrilled to host Rep. Bob Goodlatte and Sen. Doug Jones this week for From Congress to Campus. They dropped in on classes, held public events, and met with groups of students.

Exciting news! We're bringing in two former Members of Congress, Rep. Bob Goodlatte (R-Va, who served the Roanoke area for more than 20 years and chaired the Agriculture and Judiciary Committees) and Sen. Doug Jones (D-AL) on Monday and Tuesday for a program called From Congress to Campus. They'll be dropping in on some of your classes, and meeting with small groups of students.
