🌸 Blossom Leadership in Action! 🌸

Today, our 5th-grade Blossom students proudly supported the Kindergarten “Blossoming” Celebration! As student leaders, they welcomed Scottie families, distributed programs, assisted with transitions from classrooms to the gym, and helped guide our Kindergarten students to the risers for their special performance.

This opportunity beautifully reflected the spirit of “blossoming” as our older girls demonstrated leadership, responsibility, kindness, and school pride while supporting our youngest learners on their big day.

We are so proud of our Blossom students for serving as positive role models and helping make this celebration a success!

Our 2nd and 3rd grade STEM challenge team partipated in the Shore to Store engineering design challenge using LEGO robotics and knowledge about simple and compound machines. We also learned how important the Virginia Port Authority is to our area.

At McIntosh Elementary, every day counts! Regular attendance helps our students learn, grow, and succeed, and we love celebrating their dedication and hard work.
A special thank you to Dough Haus Newport News and the Burger King at Richneck Shopping Center for helping make our Outstanding Attendance Celebration special.

As we get closer to the end of the school year, we’re still keeping the learning fun and engaging in STEM! Our Scotties explored activities inspired by The Runaway Bunny, using creativity, problem-solving, and hands-on learning to bring the story to life. The challenge was to design a carrier for the baby that would keep it safe. It needed a window, a flap over the door, and a handle. Great job to these responsible parents!

Another great McIntosh Field Day is officially in the books! Thank you so much to Coach T., the McIntosh staff, and all of our awesome volunteers for helping make the day such a success. We appreciate all the time, effort, and support that went into creating such a fun and memorable day for our Scotties. We also thank Utz Quality Foods for sponsoring chips for our Scotties. Set #3

During the month of May, our School Counselors and TDT Counselor continued promoting Mental Health Awareness by supporting students, encouraging positive coping skills, and creating safe spaces for meaningful conversations.💚🧠
