We are dedicated to creating hope for children in poverty. We are here to inspire hope in these children so they might discover a future worth living.

Channel to Brazil for Christ strives to be a consistent support for the children in the slum community in Fortaleza, Brazil. We provide the children with supplementary education, hands-on learning experiences, safe space for play and enjoy nature, and one meal a day.

Behind every image or story, there is something we often take for granted: a safe and well-maintained place where ministry happens. Our campus is much more than buildings. It is where children discover hope, and our community experiences God’s love every day.

Between July and October 2026, we need to raise an additional $30,000 for the following projects

EMERGENCY FUNDS $5,000 – Replace structural parts of the roof and columns in the entrance area.

CBC is located just a few blocks from the ocean. The salty air constantly corrodes our buildings, gymnasium, roofs, columns, electrical equipment, air conditioning systems, and metal structures. While this is simply part of being near the coast, it also means maintenance can never be postponed without risking much larger repairs later.

We perform regular maintenance in each area of the facility: bathrooms, classrooms, the kitchen, and the gymnasium, to name a few. Our buildings are also aging. The main entrance area is 60 years old, and this July an engineer told us that parts of the roof and the supporting columns must be replaced for safety. It is in critical condition.

Our funds are not stretching to meet these maintenance needs.

This summer we are recognizing areas that are challenging us!

Parents want more support:
Many of our parents are young and have limited education themselves. Some feel inadequate as parents and really value the support and counsel they receive from CBC. They are asking us to arrange more events and opportunities for them, in addition to what we do for their children.

Teaching literacy in a short window of time:
Our students do not learn to read until they are with us in 2nd grade (age 7). They do not have children's books at home. We have a short period to teach children to read during their first year with us. Our teachers need training, materials, and support to give each child the attention they need to achieve basic literacy.

Equipment and teaching resources:
As we said last month about music, we need to maintain and upgrade equipment and teaching materials. We need funds to buy school supplies, musical instruments, books, and other classroom materials. Our goal is $5,000 this summer.
