Be mindful of how you maintain your social connections as the pandemic continues to unfold! Results from data during the initial Spring 2020 'lockdown' reveal that focusing on COVID-19 when on social media, or talking to loved ones was linked to greater health anxiety and depressive symptoms. Use social media to mindfully connect with loved ones, NOT focus on pandemic-related fears. Stay healthy and safe friends!

How adolescents seek support from their peers MATTERS. Girls who tend to rely on co-ruminating with their peers exhibit RSA withdrawal, meaning they are physically stressing their bodies (losing valuable resources) when seeking support. Further, girls that tend to co-ruminate less when discussing problems with their friends are attuned to their peers (or in-sync) on a physiological level. This means we can teach youth how to utilize their relationships to bolster their mental health rather than inadvertently weaken it.
