Julianne and Penny are retired teachers who started The VVLA to help families during this uncertain time of virtual learning. Julianne has over 30 years experience in public education as an elementary teacher and administrator in Newport News. Penny has over 25 years experience as a middle school te
acher in Virginia Beach and Poquoson. Our goal is to help students in Grades 3-8 navigate their online zoom classes as well as their independent assignments, while providing extra instruction and enrichment activities. Focus will be on limiting screen time to what is absolutely necessary while providing learning and enrichment activities that support grade level SOLs. Student/teacher ratio will be no greater that 4 to 1. We are both committed to helping our students make up some ground that may have been lost last spring and to help them to have a successful learning year this year. Come join us!
