The Village Wild Co-op is a new peninsula co-op starting the 2023-2024 school year.
We are SEEKING NEW MEMBERS!
Who is The Village Wild Co-op? - The Village Wild is a new co-op that has been created merging two peninsula homeschool groups, The Bay Gathering Co-op and Whimsical & Wondrous Adventure Group, together. We are seeking new families to join our co-op for the 2023-2024 year that have children from 1st-12th (preschool age children will be permitted as long as an older sibling is enrolled).
What is The Village Wild Co-op?- The Village Wild is a homeschool co-op combining its previous groups' strengths - field trips/adventures and parent-led learning stations. Our mission is to create a parent-led learning environment through a living classroom. The 2023-2024 year will be themed Our World by studying and exploring each of our world's continents' traditions, history, or landscape. The Village Wild co-op is a parent-led co-op. This means the stations for each week and field trips are run by the parents of the co-op children. Parents are asked to donate their time (sign-up for station leader at least 4 times a term) and financial resources (purchasing station materials when a leader) to help contribute to the learning experiences of the co-op’s children. “It takes a village” and are looking for parents who are willing to help us build our village.
When is The Village Wild Co-op?- The Village Wild Co-op will meet Wednesdays bi-weekly for field trips (11 am) and bi-weekly for structured learning stations (1pm). Field trips will be tailored to tie in with our monthly theme/continent. Our structured meetings will meet at central peninsula location, they will include learning experiences and guided mindfulness activities together with children of all ages, as well as a station period where the children will get to experience a variety of activities tailored to each meeting’s theme and their age group.
How do I join? - In order to join The Village Wild Co-op for the 2023-2024 school year, we are asking that potential members join us at an open enrollement playdate before being admitted as a co-op member. This is to ensure the safety of our children and to allow us to give you some information about the co-op to see if it is a fit for your family and for us to get to know you. There will be two playdates posted - JULY 12th and AUGUST 23rd. If you cannot make it to either of these dates, please message one of the hosts of the event and we will schedule a phone chat.
