After eight and a half incredible years, it’s time for me to close The Board Club. Although I’m disappointed the dream and vision wasn’t fully realized, I’m proud of the impact it has had on our members and the Newport community. We’ve made people happier, healthier, and given them a warm, welcoming place that always felt like home. This journey has been the most fulfilling work of my life, and I’ll cherish the friendships and memories forever.

I want to give a special thank you to Will Thompson and Spencer Pirdy for believing in me and The Board Club’s mission, and for years of loyalty and dedication. You made a positive impact, not just on my life but the lives of everyone who walked through our doors. And thank you to everyone that has supported me and this surf club throughout the years. There are too many people to thank directly but you know who you are and I’ll always be grateful for your support.

So, what’s next? The last day of membership will be Thursday, October 24th, followed by a final surfboard sale the weekend of October 26th and 27th. Members will have first access before the sale opens to the public. And yes, we’re definitely hosting an “end of an era” party to celebrate. More details to come.

Finally, if you’re a firm believer in The Board Club’s purpose and potential, I’m open to a conversation for selling the business to the right person. Feel free to reach out.

It’s true. Our building sold and we’re out at the end of October.

But right now, we need your help finding a temporary location for The Board Club. We’re looking for:

- 600-1,000+ sq ft in Newport or up the hill in Costa Mesa.
- Short term lease or a sublet with an existing business to create a mutually beneficial partnership.
- Ample parking and convenient access.

Thank you to the entire Newport Beach community for supporting us from the very beginning. Although it’s bittersweet to leave such a special place, change is needed. We have big plans for the future and will be growing The Board Club to its full potential!
