Riverside Sheriff Department has suffered a tremendous loss today, having an deputy killed in the line of duty. Words fail to describe how much this hurts our entire community. During this tragic and difficult time, Educational Threat Awareness stands with RSD in mourning the passing of Deputy Isaiah Cordero.

KEEP UNAUTHORIZED PEOPLE OUT. This sexual predator jumped the fence at a CA public school and attempted to assault a student in the bathroom.

How can you prevent this? What needs to be done before this happens? How do you deal with the situation after it happens? Who do you call? What do you tell parents, students, and other staff?

Security personnel, facilities managers, principals, administrators - These are just a few of the questions that you need to answer. It’s better to address these scenarios before they happen rather than after they happen.

Primary takeaway: Person with concealed carry shoots active shooter and stops the carnage. Good guy with a gun stops bad guy with a gun.

No matter how you feel about guns… we can continue to regulate guns with more and more gun laws and regulations. These only affect law abiding citizens. This does ZERO to change criminal behavior. Criminals will continue to commit crimes. Individuals with mental health issues will continue to drag others into their world of pain. The ONLY way to stop these criminals are to shoot them during the act. Period.

They do not expect to survive active shooter/ mass casualty events. They have zero intention of being taken alive. These are not “hostage situations”. Waiting for a negotiation team to arrive is not the play. The use of a negotiator is not needed because there is no reasoning with someone who has decided to take the lives of innocent people, unknown to them. A hostage situation involves demands. Active shooters have no demands. Waiting, ex. Uvalde, TX, only increase the likelihood of more deaths.

Do something. Active shooters only choose ”soft targets”. These include churches, schools, hospitals, libraries, day care facilities, senior citizen homes, shopping centers and malls. This increases the number of people they can kill, the longer they can continue their rampage, the greater their chance of achieving notoriety. The news has gone a long way toward not promoting the names of these shooters/ murders. However, these people are into the “scene”. They do internet deep dives into mass murderers, serial killers, and active shooters. They are seekers of numbers. Shutting them down asap is essential to decreasing the likelihood that they will act to begin with. Creating “hard targets” by allowing civilians to concealed carry turns soft targets into hard targets. This makes them think twice.

Vote. Make these murders think twice. Promote concealed carry. Vote for national firearm background laws. Vote for a national firearm database. Vote for federal oversight.

Say something. Don’t believe the hype. There is no “stereotypical active shooter”. These people are not white/ young/ male/ with AR-15s. Active shooters are all ages, male and female, straight/ gay/ trans, ages 10-90, black/ white/ Hispanic/ Asian/ Middle Eastern, all religions backgrounds, and have unlimited personal reasons. The only real thing they have in common is they tend to tell at least 3 people about their plans in advance. They may make gauge references to a loved one or post it publicly on social media. But most all say they want to or are going to kill people. If you see something - say something.

Do your part.
Do something.
Do vote.
Do say something.

At least three people and the suspected shooter are dead in a shooting at the Greenwood Park Mall in Indiana, police said Sunday evening.

“Active Shooters” don’t emerge suddenly. They develop over time…
and they advertise well in advance what they are becoming, and plan to do.

Notice the RED FLAGS 🚩
Look for the signs 🪧

Don’t be so WOKE that you make excuses for dangerous behaviors. Identify the behaviors, the warnings, the problems. Tell someone.
