His professional mission is to help people deepen their understanding of investing and capitalism so that they can become better investors and create better futures for themselves, their families and their communities. ults, he devoted himself to identifying and understanding the reasons that investors fail and helping them overcome the challenges that all investors face. He believes that the key to successful investing is ongoing education and coaching. According to David, “If investors don’t have a solid understanding of investing and capital markets, they will become overwhelmed by their emotions, instincts, perception bias’ and the mixed messages of Wall St. As a result, they will commit the same costly mistakes over and over again.”

David has committed himself to being a lifelong learner so that he can bring ever increasing knowledge and expertise to his clients. He has fulfilled the rigorous training requirements to become a Certified Financial Planner™. He is currently a Level III Chartered Financial Analyst candidate, which he hopes to complete in June 2014. Less than 1% of financial advisors hold both of these prestigious credentials. He was recognized as a 5 Star Wealth Manager in 2013 and 2014 by Orange Coast Magazine. David is married to Helena, and together they are blessed to have two beautiful, active, and fun loving kids (Kristen and Nathan). Together they live in Fullerton, CA. A typical weekend for the Chong family is filled with soccer, baseball, church and relaxing. David enjoys various hobbies such as golf, fishing and running, but above all, he loves being a husband and father. He finds deep satisfaction in seeing his wife and children flourish and knowing that in some small way he has a part in this. Prior to becoming a financial planner, David was in full-time Christian ministry. Outside of his role at Oaktree Wealth Group, David is involved in his local church and other groups committed to building the community.

It might seem that we live in a time of great trouble. Although the problems may be real, we can't lose sight of the fact that we live in amazing times with incredible progress.

Here's one example for you:

It was a little over 109 years ago (12/17/1903) that Orville Wright piloted the first ever flight. The flight lasted 12 seconds and covered 120 feet.

Fast forward 109 years... Imagine what the world will be like in another 20 years. Amazing times!
