The college is giving us through this weekend to beef up our online art history class. This eight week course is a survey of visual culture within selected regions of pre-contact Mexico, Central America, and South America. This course will cover the relationships between art and people as it relates to culture, social status, gender, belief systems, and the environment. Coastline College Art Gallery is happy to exhibit the work of Carolin Peters as part of our "Take a Seat" exhibition. She has five wonderful charcoal drawings up for all to see. While not all of them are sitting figures, I think once you're here and you see how they're displayed you'll come to the same conclusion as I... these definitely fits into "Take a Seat." . Do you want to learn more about Carolyn Peter? she just did a podcast with us. Here's a link.

https://sites.google.com/view/pacific-daylight-time/installation Referencing and riffing on the Getty's historic Pacific Standard Time, Pacific Daylight Time turns the spotlight toward the sun-soaked vitality of the Golden State. From the Pacific Coast to the Mojave Desert, from bustling cities to serene mountain ranges, the works on display capture the color, energy, and eccentricity that define California's creative spirit.
Still working on the site, but there is plenty to see.
